REVERENCE FOR FALLEN TREES

First off thanks for all the lovely feedback on the "Gypsy Death & You" series. It means a lot!

This picture is from yesterday when I went into the woods without having a clear intention what to do. I carried a few little props with me but when I saw these flowers and fallen trees with the giant upright ones behind them I knew I wouldn't need any of them.
The whole scenery has been so peaceful and calm and it seemed to me as if it was a place where nature was reverently thinking of all the fallen trees.

It's crazy how an idea is suddenly awakening only by seeing a special place. I've experienced it a few times now and every time it's wonderful in a new way. It's amazing when an idea you've planed on for a long time finally works out and all the effort gets payed but actually these are moments I'm most grateful for.

Today has been the most pleasant day for a few weeks. I went out to the woods to test my new lens and I'm totally blown away by the results. It feels as if I entered a door to the next level and I guess there are tons of ideas that will work out amazing with it. Can't tell how excited and happy I'm about this all.

As I told you two days ago there's a new method on how I get the focus in my pictures and finally I took a picture of it -> in comments. It's really easy to do it his way because the hight of the folding meter stick can be easily adjusted to the pose. Also the head helps to find the right exposure because its colour is similar to my skin and I don't have to bother that the face is going to be overexposed. Fantastic, isn't it?

I had a wonderful time shooting outside today...NOT. Seriously, it’s been only one or two degrees and sooner than I would have expected my hands and feet were this cold that I didn’t feel them anymore...what finally lead to the point that I fell of the tree once because it’s been quite hard to balance while my hands and feet seemed to have left ;-) I know it sounds funny and the fact that I had only 10 seconds to run from behind the camera to the tree and jump on it made it even more difficult...I should definitely buy a remote soon.

Anyways I’m more than pleased with what I’ve captured and therefore there’ll be a view more of this series tomorrow.

Old one from a shoot in summer which has been inspired by the work of one of my favorite photographers on flicker Aela Labbé ( www.flickr.com/photos/aela/ ) Go and check out her stream if you haven't done yet. I simply adore what she's doing and I wish I was just a little as talented as she is.

I can't tell how much I 'm longing for summer cause I'm more than tired of freezing outside while shooting. I'd love to go back to this location and do work on some concepts which are already in my mind but at the moments it's impossible to do that.

Today it's been the first sunny and warm (at least 15 degrees ;-) day for weeks so I headed out to the forest to realize this concept which I had in mind for a very long time now.

It's not the best thing I've ever done but I'm ok with the result. Actually I'm glad I even managed to catch up with the 365 and took a picture.The only thing I probably will never come across is to get the subject 100% in focus when shooting in the woods...but well...it could have been worse.
