MONDENKIND II

Dear everybody,

of course I'm not going to close the year without uploading some new work and letting you know I'm still alive.

For me personally 2012 has been completely other than expected...both sad & beautiful.
Looking back on the past months there's been a character that showed up in my life stronger than ever and at times it felt as we were sharing a similar story. I have never felt as connected to any other imaginary person before and therefore...this series is dedicated to the Childlike Empress from The Neverending Story.

I hope all of you spent a wonderful time celebrating christmas with your dearest! and will have a good start in 2013!

DEAD OR ALIVE III

Another picture for the ongoing DEAD OR ALIVE project.
I found lots of new wonderful scenes at the flea market today and I thought I'd share at least one or two of these with you.

Description:

"My intention is to portray as many different dolls as possible just the way I find them lying around somewhere at the flea market.

I'm absolutely fascinated by the stories you can build around them and I'm excited to discover wether they look rather dead or alive. To me dolls have always had a slightly creepy but also romantic feel and I'm trying to capture this exact mood in my pictures.

Once that I've collected lots of different and interesting scenes I might create a book featuring the best ones."

MARGARET, STAY FOR ME - polaroid I

As announced here is the first polaroid from the MARGARET series. One more to come tomorrow.

I have to admit that even though there are many advantages when taking pictures with a DSLR I absolutely love the polaroid and analogue look in general as it adds some kind of mystery, magic and dreaminess to a picture one can hardly achieve with digital stuff. Sometimes it feels as if this was the exact little thing to make my work look as I want to have it looking.

Another one from yesterday's shoot. As you know I mostly prefer horizontal format but I guess this works quite well this way.
