Spent the afternoon at the National Zoo on Friday. Lots of great shots, but this one fulfills my obligation for the project. :)

It was nice to see her parents, too...but we got to meet the baby!

A few weeks ago, I did a short shoot with Faith, to give her an idea of what it was like to work with a makeup artist and be in front of the camera. She's only 11, so it can be very intimidating the first time out.

This week, we did a full shoot, so she could start her portfolio and get the images submitted to agencies.

Usually, I don't shoot HDR images when working with people, but I saw an opportunity here and didn't want to let it pass us by.

This is one of my personal favorites from the shoot with Faith!

I already received a question/criticism from someone regarding one of my processing choices that I'd like to address: Yes, the texturing does carry down onto the roof of the tower. It is intentional. I chose to do this to bring out the broken windows that help darken the overall appearance of the building.

K was getting really antsy, waiting for her friend to come over to we could walk over to watch the fireworks, so I did what I could to keep her entertained.

Being in front of the camera seems to work every time!

K's 5th birthday was Monday, but her party was Saturday afternoon. The kids had a great time and as you can tell, she enjoyed her Scooby Doo cupcake, too!

K got an awesome Playmobil veterinary office set at our (very) late Christmas celebration with the extended family.

She's played with it every day since getting it and it might be her new favorite toy.

It might be just as entertaining for Mommy & Daddy as it is for her!

K has been on a MISSION to have curls lately. No idea why, but she HAD to have them. Sooooo...Mommy got K her own special curlers and K slept in them.

Nothing makes K happier than having Harley sit with her. She stayed still and quiet for close to 30 minutes, hanging with the cat.

Mind you, K was in the world's ugliest (yet incredibly comfy) chair first, then Harley jumped up to sit with her.

Guess she isn't my kitty anymore!

Dads were invited to Daycare today to celebrate Father's Day with our little ones. It was very sweet - they stuffed us with desserts while we sat with our kids at their tables, then presented us with very nice little gifts.

It was a great kick off to the weekend!

As a photographer, it's a real honor when someone asks you to take their photo. Family portrait, pet, car, whatever it may be. It means they think enough of your work that they trust you enough to secure a memory for them.

But every once in a while, you get a special opportunity. Today was one of those days for me. Rachel is just starting out in her modeling career and needed some photos for her portfolio. Today, I was lucky to be the photographer that worked with Rachel on a real shoot for the first time.

She's a natural and it's hard to believe that she is ONLY 14! I had a great time working with her. She also gets her first official published photo credit for this shot, courtesy of www.DigitalArtscape.com (Find me on Facebook, too: facebook.com/digitalartscape )

Yeah, that's right...that's a shirt designed by yours truly. I let her keep it, too.
