Flew home from a few days in the south US and got a glimpse of this wildfire on the base of Mt. Hood in Oregon. It was one of the largest of the year and pretty amazing to see from this vantage point. The fire is off to the left of the photo....clouds are in the foreground.

I usually don't like roof tops or any other "clutter" in my photos, but this one works for me.
Besides the spectacular sky show, the lamp post just does it for me!

Love this view! The colors and the clouds were so different and the glow was golden!

Last minute idea to drive to Woodburn. The light was terrible and there were rain showers all around, and as you can see, one of my tri pod legs got lazy. The good news?
A unique view of such an over-photographed location and there are no people tip-toeing through my shot!

Driving home and there was a huge plume of smoke, so we followed it! it turned out to be a fire at a salon. Unfortunately, we could not get close enough to see the actual flames very well, but at least I have a pretty steady hand! This shot was taken without a tripod.
