Um das Fußgestell wird der Aggregatetisch montiert. Diese Konstruktion schließt später mit dem Doppelboden nach oben hin ab.

The assembly table is built around the pedestal. This construction will be secured to the raised floor.

Das Fußgestell wird mit dem Fundament, einer freischwimmenden Betonplatte, fest verschraubt. Innerhalb des Sockels befindet sich der wassergekühlte Motor der Zentrifuge.

Bolts are used to firmly attach the pedestal to the foundation, a floating concrete slab. The centrifuge’s water-cooled motor is located inside the base.

In der Raummitte wird die Platzierung des Fußgestells vorbereitet. Die Aufbauarbeiten übernehmen die Spezialisten der österreichischen Herstellerfirma AMST.

The site for the pedestal is prepared in the centre of the hall. Specialists from Austrian manufacturer AMST are in charge of the installation work.

Durch den Höhenunterschied zwischen Zentrifugenraum und Flur muss das Fußgestell über einen Seilzug herabgelassen werden.

The pedestal has to be lowered into place using a cable hoist due to the difference in height between the centrifuge hall and the corridor

Der Zentrifugenraum ist soweit vorbereitet – der Sattelschlepper mit den Einzelteilen der Kurzarmzentrifuge kann kommen.

The centrifuge hall has been prepared so that the articulated lorry bearing the separate components of the short arm centrifuge can access it directly.

Die Bodenplatten wurden verlegt, der Einbau des „:envihab -Herzstücks“ ist vollendet. Erste Versuche werden nach der Eröffnung des :envihab am 05. Juli 2013 stattfinden.

Installation of the ‘heart of :envihab’ is complete. Initial tests will take place following the opening of :envihab on 5 July 2013.

Die Schutzfolie wird vom Forschungsinstrument entfernt, sodass alle nötigen Kabelverbindungen montiert werden können.

The protective cover is removed from the research instruments so all the necessary cable connections can be assembled.

An den Hauptarm der Zentrifuge werden die drei Meter langen Nebenarme angebracht. Die Ausführung des Hauptantriebes als Torquemotor ermöglicht die geforderte hohe Laufruhe der Zentrifuge.

The three-metre side arm is attached to the main arm of the centrifuge. Designing the main motor as a torque motor makes the required smoothness of operation for the centrifuge possible.

Der insgesamt 7,4m lange Hauptarm befindet sich bildfüllend im Raum. Im späteren Betrieb kann die Zentrifuge Fliehkräfte an den Armenden erzeugen, die dem 6-fachen der Erdbeschleunigung entsprechen.

The main arm – 7.4 metres long in total – is in position in the hall, completely filling the picture. The centrifuge can generate forces of up to six times the force of gravity at the ends of the arm.

The main arm of the centrifuge is brought into the hall. A cover protects the integrated electronics and mechanisms against dust and prevents damage during transportation.
