When I left Tromsø on March 28th I thought my Northern Lights season was over, but it was not :)
On March 29th I noticed that the Northern lights forecast was really good so I went for a walk in the Woods. After an hour of walking in the dark forest I decided to head back since there was no action in the sky, and I was starting to get jumpy after hearing branches breaking nearby. Maybe a bear or a moose was hunting me :)
When I came out of the Woods the sky turned green and I got a few shots; this is a panorama of several 2 second exposures.

A great night out staring at the sky!
Also my first night out with a tear in my eye :)
There were some tourists at the same spot, a family with small kids. Suddenly the sky exploded with fantastic northern ligths for maybe a minute or so. I panicked as usual and got a few useless shots straight up with too high ISO :)
While trying to control my panic and get some ok shots I overheard a little girl in the family saying this to her mother with the most thankful and happy voice: "Mommy, this is what we came here to see".
It made me so happy to hear that, and then the tear popped out :)
This is a panorama from Grøtfjord outside of Tromsø combined of 12 shots taken after the lights had calmed down to "normal" mode again. I hope you like it :)
It will always remind me of one of the happiest nights out chasing the lights.

Took a day off from work to take a closer look at the "famous" whales feasting in herring outside of Tromsø. Packed kayaks + gear and after a 45 minute drive we found the whales. Found out then that I had forgotten my life jacket.., so I decided to not go kayaking and take some pictures instead. This is Anders Schurmann kayaking just a few meters away from the giant whales.
Got a pretty close look at 2 of them myself when they suddenly came bursting out of the water just 10 meters from land :)
But I was so shocked that I did not get any good photos.
Fun times :)
