It is hard to explain how amazing it is to see these large animals in action, how they coordinate the hunt after heering is just spectacular. ( See previous shot for more explanation )

Jump!

I have seen killer whales many times, but until a few days ago never seen them jump, but I did not capture it properly, so I was so happy when I first of all got to see it again and also got a decent capture of it today. Its not the biggest, perhaps 2-3 meters, but with bad weather and high sea's just getting a clear shot was great!
The whales are on the banks outside of Norway hunting the spawning heering, And we are here fishing saithe that are here because of the heering as well.
Usually when the whales are after the heering they scare them towards the surface, so its fairly easy to spot that there is a flock of whales since they are pushing the fish up to the surface where lots of gulls and gannets are feasting.
