Sometimes I think its nice to experiment with shots that you wouldn't usually take,

While this shot isn't instantly recognisable I like the drama, composition and uniqueness of it.
Derwent Edge, near Whinstone Lee Tor

James G Photography posted a photo:

I wanted a peace and tranquillity shoot last Saturday as well as visiting somewhere less visited. So I headed up the lungbusting climb from Ladybower Inn to Derwent Edge, stopping just before Whinstone Lee Tor.

I chose to go out Saturday because it seemed a guaranteed sunset even if not spectacular would unfold. However, a persistant hazy bank of cloud looked to put end to that.

Just as I was giving up hope as you do, though thankful to be out the sun broke through the smallest of gaps between the clouds and Kinder Scout illuminating the landscape in a glorious golden glow. The composition isn't quite spot on, I was aware at the time but any more to the left and the sun was included.
The Beehive Landscape

Well, as I have said before the light on Tuesday morning was just something else. Anyway, did a shoot around Over Owler Tor and for about 5 minutes we was treated to stormy skies with fleeting light just highlighting certains rocks and parts of the valley. Was special indeed. I call this the Beehive as I think that is what it resembles really, however it may have another name. Not as nice as the portrait one as the light had moved off the rock within seconds of taking the other one but I still quite like it and the distant views beyond.
