Ladybower

It's not often I will stick around after direct light ends. However on this evening I could see in the distance over Stanage Edge the sky was lighting up and I figured it would pass to me as the sun sun lower behind the hills.

I was right and the sky started to light up a treat, fortunately for once I was near water (Ladybower) which gives that crucial reflection of colour when direct light isn't falling.

This shot is taken from Derwent Edge looking down to Ladybower. To be honest, I've always wanted one of these reflective "lake" shots from up on the hills :)

This shot is taken from Derwent Edge looking down to Ladybower and Ashopton Bridge with Win Hill in the distance and Lose Hill just recognisable to the right.

Doxey Pool - Silhouette - The Roaches

Was just processing pictures and wasn't sure what I was going to do with this picture. Next thing I hit the maximise blacks by accident and voila the result knocked me back and improved the result ten fold. Not my usual style to over process but in this case I think it works.

Doxey Pool - Roaches

Doxey Pool on the roaches, apparently by legend this is bottomless. Taken late evening but still too early for any nice warm colours, more than anything just to prove the differences in light a couple of hours make!

Another shot from my sunset at Derwent water, wasn't I lucky? Look at the fantastic skies and clouds. I wish I'd have made the stone wet for this shot...however did it a few seconds later for another shot but the scene had completely changed by then.

Sunset from Derwent Water, with reflective waters. Taken just as the sun was going down. As you can see it was already lighting up the clouds providing some fantastic detail.

Doxey Pool on the Roaches, Staffordshire. Apparently bottomless and haunted so legend has it. No one would believe so on this tranquil peaceful evening.

Golden Light Path - The Roaches

While walking along to pass some time waiting for the sun to come down, I noticed this path nicely illuminated by the sun directly ahead. As you can see we had just had rain and added to the effect.
