Castleton/Hope Cement Works at sunrise.

Some say the cement works are an eye sore on the landscape, but this very chilly morning I was thankful for them. What a great focal point and the smoke was so dramatic.

Snowy Edale Road

Another obligatory shot of the winding road into Edale. I had been wanting this snow shot for a while.

Shot early in the morning so the light wasn't best as it was behind us and quite low in the sky.

However the contrast with the green valley compensated for this.

The Last Push

A photo I am very proud of for the reason in this link www.keswickmountainfestival.co.uk/2009/03/05/action-photo...

I had only owned my first ever camera for 3 months and I took it out with me when my mate went rock climbing at Ramshaw Rocks on Boxing Day 2008.

I took this picture and the blues were really bought out using a CPL. The low sun behind the rocks helped me create this silhouette.

It just goes to show not all the right equipment etc is needed and anyone can take something worthy :)

Ladybower Tower

A composition I found very hard, I could not seem to get the lines of the rails to be centre as well as the tower.

Anyway here is my effort from a morning shot with the reservoir just thawing out.

Three Shires Head

A place I have been wanting to visit since I got into photography way back in late 2008 and finally I went.

This is Three Shires Head and packhorse bridge that runs over the river Dane and it marks the boundary between Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Cheshire.

It seems the wait paid off as it was selected on photos of the week on Dyxum Forums :)

Hell Raining Down?

Well I turned up to Curbar Edge, the skies were blue as they was when I left. I thought I may be able to get the sunset this time after a failed attempt before.

Within 5 minutes I was at the top and I could see an expanse of grey cloud coming and the next thing I knew it started snowing so off I rushed back to the car as not to get stuck.

However some fantastic lighting was happening across the valley so I quickly snapped this.

Talk about right place right time :)

My first ever millstone shot, I should be ashamed to be a Peak District Photographer for it to have taken this long.

Taken in Padley Woods, Near Hathersage. I can only imagine how nice it is going to be when I go back next Autumn.

Swallet Hole Waterfall

A rather unknown waterfall in the Peak District, yet one of the most impressive.

Swallet Hole Waterfall lies in a big hole at the side of the road between Eyam and Foolow. The tiny stream drops dramatically off the edge of the rocks to form the falls before transforming back to a small stream that runs underground and doesn't reappear until Stoney Middleton.
