From 24th on down, pedestrians frequently walk on the bike lane, despite there being a sidewalk on the right.

Looking north. At about 24th street, you need to cut across two lanes of traffic, the exit to the UNIS parking lot, and a crosswalk in order to rejoin the bike lane on the other side.

Many bikers use the car road instead of the bike lane. There is a second car lane under the building on the right, all the way through.

The end of the lane is frequently blocked by school buses or cars picking up children. Lots of traffic and school kids when school begins and ends.

Many cars do not fully stop at the stop sign mounted above the bike sign here (backside shown). This makes crossing to marked bike lane hazardous

Still in need of repairs after Hurricane Sandy, this path is shared by schoolkids, bikers, walkers and restaurant workers. Note the oncoming lane of traffic on the other side of the wall on right.

The yellow fence was put there to slow bikers down. Note the CAUTION sign on it too. Restaurant worker frequently come around this corner, making a hazard for both workers and bikers....and ordinary pedestrians.

The yellow sign in the background is the second "walk bike" sign and indicates the way through the narrow space between the bushes and the restaurant (which is closed at the moment due to damage from Hurricane Sandy)

These are the first walk bike signs when headed south, after the parking lot, but just before the Water Club (on the left here). Note the road on the right of the drop-off area is a high speed exit road from the FDR.

A shared parking lot. Water club advises bikers to WALK their bikes along the sidewalk at the water's edge, but no one does that and it would be hard to do in such a narrow space. Traffic is a problem when water club is busy
