Arisaka Type 44 Receiver

Pacific Kilroy posted a photo:

Someone gave me this old Arisaka Type 44 receiver. Actually, it was a whole rifle that had been modified so much that I disassembled it for parts. The bolt was cut and turned down, and the receiver was tapped for a scope mount - RIGHT THROUGH THE CHRYSANTHEMUM! To top it off, it has a 6.5 X 55 barrel attached to it. The receiver is still in great shape as far as functionality is concerned; I was just ticked that someone ruined a nice Japanese weapon. I saved the parts that are interchangeable with my Type 38 and kept this because I didn't know what else to do with it.

The back of a US radio component, showing the old fashioned tubes. Maybe old fashioned, but this thing is heavy and rugged - made to last.
