Another mystery shipwreck for you! Apparently these two salty old sea dogs were captain and first mate on the Hansa. We have a few Poole photos from around November 1900 of the wreck of the Hansa, although none of them look particularly wrecked - probably more a case of running aground? Think it might have taken place off Tramore, Co. Waterford.

Answers on a postcard as usual please, if you have any information!

Little mystery for you all today. This ship is the Sarah McDonald, we think, and our title just says "Boat found at sea". So, what was the story? Was it a Marie Celeste situation? Was the Sarah McDonald thought to be lost, but then turned up safe and sound, i.e. "found"?

We're presuming, as this is a Poole Collection photo, that this one was taken along the quays in Waterford...
