Blue hour; Auchencairn

Sunset didn't delivery red skies, but blue hour was marvelous.

This is the first time I've got around to shooting at Auchencairn Fisheries, and the tide and sky were very kind to me.

Morning's Mist

Hello Flickr. Did you miss me? With the awful summer I've not had the chance to get out much. Autumn however always provides great interest: the colours, the morning mist and great light.

This morning I went for an early morning walk and during this shot was blessed with some really intense mist. Shortly after I took this shot the far bank was wonderfully lit - that's a picture for my mind and can't be shared.

If you've followed my photo's for a while, you'll know I've been trying to get a shot here at the right tide hide for months - so I was very pleased when today the conditions were just right! To get to these I have to clamber down a 10 foot sea wall - not the place to get stuck!

I know what you're thinking; there's something different about this shot…

This is my first colour shot for a very long time! I've got a B&W version too, which I think I prefer, but I'm going to let you guys pass your comments on this one first (feel free to be criticle - it's how I learn).

Easter Sunday at Kippford. A busy D&G this weekend, tourist time and all. I love the view of Screel and Bengairn from this jetty; a lovely part of the world.

Shooting the Shooters

Whilst I was shooting at the Ladybower Reservoir fishery jetty a group of chaps turned up who were shooting a skateboard film, that's them on the jetty.

This is one of the first few shots I've taken with the Hitech filter system. I'm wholly unconvinced by them. The colourcast is bonkers, I had origionally hoped to do some colour work with the shots, but alas not.

I was shooting with the Canon 18-55 that came with my body - I've never really used it, but at high f values it's much crisper than my Sigma, so expect more from this lens.

Tree; Melchette Mere

An enduring tree reaching out of Melchette Mere, looking back to Tatton Hall.

I've tested the Hitech filters in varying conditions now, and can safely say if your shooting with the sun behind the camera there isn't really a colour cast. However the second the sun hits the filter from the side or front, the colour cast is awful!

A concrete jetty on Tatton Mere, in Tatton Park, Cheshire. This is the first time I've explored Tatton Park for years; I'm kicking myself for not going sooner, as there is a wealth of photography oportunities there! Expect some more shots from this trip over the coming days / weeks.
