Striped... again

This wasn't exactly my idea, but it was getting dark and I was afraid of getting robbed, so I had to shoot this quickly. Also my timer remote wasn't working properly, I wanted a longer exposure.

Self portraits can be tricky sometimes, specially when focusing.

Best viewed large on black

The red color over the tree it's because that night was cold as hell, so we lighted up a little fire. The light on the bottom right is from my hometown. That took me by surprise, it's a lot of luminic contamination for a little town.

First I tried a "short" 5 minutes exposure for testing purposes and to check if the south celestial pole was actually where I thought it was. Then I tried to do one single 30 minutes exposure but something went wrong and the shutter closed at ~25min, so I tried one more time and succesfully achieved my goal for the night!: one single 30 minutes exposure. But since the three pictures where fine, I stacked them in Photoshop and this is the result of about one hour of cold in the middle of nowhere :D

In short:
- 1 x 5 min
- 1 x ~25 min
- 1 x 30 min

This time-lapse shows a little bit of Tinogasta city (Catamarca, Argentina) and it's people.

We did this video with Karim during summer, it's our first time-lapse work.

Sadly the uploaded video quality sucks, I think it's either a compression problem or just because the original files are JPEG (looks better on my PC, though).

I know there's a lot to improve here (color correction mainly and some other technical stuff), so feel free to criticize our work. We want to do better next time!

Ver Tinogasta (verano 2011) en Vimeo

Time-lapse que muestra una pequeña parte de lo que es la ciudad de Tinogasta (Catamarca, Argentina) y su gente.

Hicimos este video con Karim durante el verano, es nuestro primer time-lapse.

Lamentablemente la calidad del video no es la mejor, supongo que es por la compresión o porque los archivos originales son JPEG (aunque en mi PC se ve mucho mejor).

Sé que queda mucho por mejorar (corrección de color más que nada y alguna que otra cosa técnica), así que siéntanse libres de criticar nuestro trabajo. ¡Queremos que la próxima nos salga mucho mejor!

Otra foto del archivo que saqué en La Rioja hace un tiempo en un hotel abandonado que está espectacular, ¡se pueden hacer tantas cosas ahí! Creo que viajaría sólo para volver a sacar fotos ahí jaja. Es lo bueno de estos lugares, con muy poco se logra mucho (lo único que teníamos a mano era la máscara, el resto ya estaba ahí, esperando ser fotografiado)
