4x5 contact print made in my darkroom in the basement. Shot on a Busch pressman. These are authentic Mississpian era rock carvings estimated to be between 500 and 1000 years old!! These are from the same era as the nearby Cahokia mounds, the ruins of a large Native American metropolis.

4x5 contact print made in my darkroom in the basement. Shot with a Busch pressman. this is a hand which was carved during the Mississippian era of our land's history. It is 500-1000 years old. Petroglyph sites are very fragile and several have been either destroyed or damaged with graffiti, as this one has been. These are sacred areas that deserve respect and lack protection of any kind. if you are fortunate enough to visit such a place, please tread lightly and take nothing but photographs.

4x5 contact print made in my darkroom and shot on a Busch Pressman. These are rather large representations of two animals and a quartered circle. Each animal is about 3 feet long. The pits in the one to the left are probably from shotgun bee bees. I have a photo of this site from the 1950s and there are no pits in the rock face at that time.

4x5 contact print made in my darkroom in the basement. Shot with a Busch Pressman. This is an abstract bird in flight. It is one of several birds in flight in a grouping of five or six. I have a shot of another from this grout that I took with my Hasselblad.
