It's nearly a year ago that I painted this from Ronah's beautiful photo! Dalma had chosen it as an award icon in one of my groups and people give me lots of compliments for it in the actual show in the court of Wetzlar, so I thought I might show it again. And it's the right season for it!

Die Anregung zu diesem Bild stammt aus dem Buch "Aquarelle nach Fotografien" von Oliver Gärtner und Fritz Stinn. Die zarten Farben und die asiatische Stimmung haben mich fasziniert. Stinn malt mit einer ganz speziellen Technik, die ich noch mit Negativmalerei ergänzt habe. Ein spannender Malprozess!

Ein Eindruck vom Morsumer Kliff auf Sylt. Beeindruckende Vielfalt der Landschaft, endlose weiße Sandstrände, wunderschöne Dünen, im Sommer von Heide bedeckt. Muss atemberaubend sein. Ich hätte die blühende Heide gerne gesehen, darum hab ich sie in mein Bild gemalt. In diesem eisigen März 2013 schwer vorstellbar!

Impression from the Morsum cliff on the German Isle of Sylt. Fascinating variety of landscape, endless white sand beaches, wonderful dunes, in summer covered with heather. Must be breathtaking. I just wanted to make the heather bloom on my painting although we didn't see it like that in the icy March of 2013.

Nein, ich war nicht in Afrika, hab nur meine Liebe zu diesen Motiven entdeckt! Nachdem ich die Giraffen in einem kleineren Format gemalt hatte, hab ich mir diesmal die doppelte Größe vorgenommen.

no, I haven't been in Africa, it's just that I discovered my love to the subject! After having done the giraffes in a smaller size, here are now the zebras in a twice as big watercolour.

No, non sono stata in Africa, ma mi piacciono i motvi. Dopo aver dipinto le giraffe in un formato più piccolo, ecco qui le zebra in doppia misura:-)

I always wanted to paint this scene again, after my first one from 2007 (see below). In these days Gaby (www.flickr.com/photos/kunstausdemwesterwald/) visited me and she, too, found it attractive, so we both had a go on it.

Ich wollte dieses Winterbild immer noch ein zweites Mal nach 2007 malen. In diesen Tagen hatte ich Besuch von Gaby (www.flickr.com/photos/kunstausdemwesterwald/) und sie fand es auch so attraktiv, so haben wir es beide gemalt.

Mir hat das erste dieser Art so gut gefallen, dass ich es nochmal in vierfacher Größe gemalt habe und bin schon bei einem weiteren in der Art. Es ist sehr kontemplativ, in dieser Art zu malen, sehr entspannend.

I liked my first one of the kind very much, so I did it again, but much bigger this time and I'm doing even another one. It's a very relaxing and contemplative technique.

Hab meine Heimatstadt mal ganz anders gemalt. War so eine spontane Idee, hat total viel Spaß gemacht!
I've painted my hometime in a totally different way, was a spontaneous idea, total fun!

Here I varied the technique that Lin showed me - one of Karlyn Holman's techniques.
We had a fabulous blackberry crop this year and the leaves are very decorative, too, so I used them as stamps and arranged them in geometrical frames.

Windmill - happy birthday, Lin:-)

It seems ages ago! We had a beautiful trip to the Hessenpark me and my dear friend Lin on a bright sunny Augustday. Lin took hundreds of photos of the location, an outdoor museum of original Hassian buildings. When at home we both choose this lovely windmill as a painting subject.
I'm sure she knows, why I had so much fun with it, so I picked out this one to post in honour of her birthday - big smile and lots of love!!!
