One from down the front at Crosby catching the last of the golden rays while the kids enjoy one of there last evenings before returning to school. Happy days.

In view is the mile marker at Burbo bank, with the windfarm beyond and the rays of golden sun breaking through cloud.

Some silhouettes from Crosby beach, togs, a couple of the 100 Another place ironmen and others all in front of some of the 90MW (when the wind blows) wind farm at burbo bank., each of which is around 260 feet tall.

Bit cold today, but trust you are having a great Easter break.

Hope you are doing great, sand and cloud in some interesting light, the misty line of horizon was mist and/or rain comming in across the Irish sea into the Mersey.

A shot from the beach recently. As usual there were a number of togs on the sand, the tide was out, and as usual I couldnt resist snapping a couple of them, I liked the pose that this guy was pulling to capture one of the ironmen statues.

I'm pretty sure this was SOOC, I didnt bump the saturation but on my works monitor this looks rather fruity, see what you think.

Family outing to see the man, Crosby

In these troubled times, it's nice to see a family visiting there cast iron uncle from Crosby.

My family didn't make it past the first few wet patches on the beach, these guys did and had some fun paddling in the receding tide, while taking in the windfarm, shipping and the ironmen.

Another from the moody boots folder archive, but a frame not seen.

It was a golden sunset with fabulous clouds, rendered here in mono.

In shot is the beach being watched by an Anothony Gormley Ironman statue, as people and dog enjoy the last of the sun.

UPDATE: *An anniversary today apparently, July 20 1969 was the first time man set foot on the moon, I think mans most notable achivement to date, it will be sometime before we step there again.

A reprocessed and rebalanced shot from the muddy boot session archives.

I wanted to change the colour balance, but I've also tweaked curves and done a little dodging, no doubt over the top, but on my monitor it looked kind of interesting and has some added drama, which I tend to like, see what you think..

So I'll try and claim this has been slid, hope thats ok, so happy Sliders Sunday! HSS

So there we were down at the front to catch a sight of a commemorative flight, 100 years ago today (07/07/1911) Henry Melly took off from Waterloo and flew off to play golf with his mates over in Trafford, he had his game and flew back, living the dream right..

That was the first aircraft to go through Manchester, any guesses how many aircraft go through Manchester today, 100 years on?, let’s just say lots, and each on can be carrying hundreds of passengers who can pretty much take safety and comfort for granted.

Each of the light aircraft carried a copy of Mellys flying license, and they flew in formation from Waterloo and flew a route to Trafford at approximately 1500ft.

Just snaps but thought I’d share since commemorating something of 100 years is something significant, so in...

Shot 1 is the commemorative formation of 5 light aircraft flying over Crosby dunes and prom fence.

Shot 2, the 5 planes against the cloud

Shot 3, Planes off into the distance with the futuristic structure of Crosby baths in shot.

In the process of being washed up on Crosby beach, a Jelly fish and the receding wave that is leaving him high and dry.

It’s amazing how many jelly fish are left on the beach, usually in groups which makes me think that there are whole multigenerational families that have all ended up snuffed out on the beach having caught the wrong wave, but that kind of seems odd in some respects, I’m sure I read they have no brains, but in which case I expect they didn’t see this coming.

Anyway in view is Crosby beach and one of a million photographers that come and frequent the wet sand to catch some light.

Have pushed the processing to bring out a little more drama for this one, I like the contrast of both colour and light, and the snake of water leading you out to sea with the windfarm to the right of frame, hope you find it agreeable.

Another 'Another place' ironman shot from Crosby beach.

Here two of the 100 ironmen with a mile marker between, and the distant hills of Wales for a backdrop.

Shot this evening, there was a fire up in Hightown, the grass looked as if it was on fire??... anybody know more?

Fred the weather man says that we might be able to see the northen lights this evening, something to watch out for....

Big ship sails into the river Mersey watched over by the Ironmen of Crosby

In shot is the 22,000 tonne Panama registered cargo vessel 'Sv Nikolay'.
Don’t really know if you would describe this as a big ship... but I would, it did look to be large and lightly laden riding high in the water, the pooled water left by the leaving tide, left a mirrored surface for reflection, and the Ironmen looked on as to greet the ship into the river Mersey.
I quite liked the painted feel to the cloud backdrop here, I think these would have been perfect light and conditions to have seen tall ships in, oh well the less romantic bulk cargo ship will have to do.

If you want to track ships, this makes it easy, you can see where this ship is now, and what its doing...
