Goodbye Ms Rosemary

Rosemary left us for the rainbow bridge sometime yesterday afternoon. We came home to find she had gone.

We had known for a couple of weeks that she had a wound near her butt that she kept grooming and I did my best to clean it and apply antibiotic powder.

For a spell, she did look like she was improving but maybe the ordeal was just too much for her little being. I guess we'll never know.

She was a sweet girl who would accept only almond slices from my hand and nothing else. I'll miss her sweet nature.

Though it is really sad, I am glad she is not suffering any longer.

Winterberry Tea and Salty Caramel's First Litter

Photos taken last weekend. Reservations strictly for Singaporeans only.

Please direct enquiries for availability (not requests for general hamster info) to: hesedetang.hamstery[at]gmail.com

It has been decided that this will be our Hamstery's last generation. We are into our 18th (OMG!) year and I have decided that I'd like a hiatus from breeding hamsters for the forseeable present/future.

We have also just gotten a 5 month old Ragamuffin kitten and we are kitty-proofing the apartment as the kitten comes home tomorrow.

Thankfully for us, the hamsters were always kept in our spare room, which we can now seal off and keep off limits to the cat. It is intended for them to never meet.

Disclaimer:
Please do not try this with your own hamsters, unless you are very sure of what you are doing. Behind the scenes preparation was involved in this photo and no hamsters were injured during or after this photo was taken. Thank you for your concern.
