The upright stone slabs ( stellae ) are engraved with calligraphic poems and inscriptions . These are often used as monuments .

Kampung Kepayang is a 'Ghost town ' situated very close to both sides of the federal trunk road (1) near Ipoh in Perak , Malaysia . It was built during the tin mining days before WW II . With the exception of two, the rest of the townshops have been all abandoned . Reason given was that when the public road was widened , the shops became too close to it and thus have made stopping and parking of cars impossible and so no businesses could be carried out . Future plan by the authorities for this town is still uncertain

Tents for various purposes were erected during the period of the religious/commercial fair in Pushkar to cater for the many local and foreign visitors .

To answer some interesting questions : I was tempted to partake in the food here but somehow never got into actually trying things out !

Due to the pleasant seawater temperature and plenty of sunshine, the Xiapu mudflats are rich in kelp, laver, oyster and yellow croakers. Locals living along the beach are mainly engaged in marine culture. The bamboo poles, fish nets and stone columns that are inserted in the mudflats are used to dry kelp, laver, oyster and other marine products. As the sun rises and sets, the tide rises and falls, the bamboo poles, fishing boats and fish nets form various spectacular scenery .

It is very pleasant to take morning walks in the villages surrounding this volcanic park . Good to observe the life of the simple people living there . Mt Bromo is active and smoke is usually seen .

The magnificent Poplar diversifolia trees have existed on earth for millions of years . It is said that they have a life span of about 300 years and still will remain standing for about 3 years after their death and when finally when they fall to the ground , they will not rot for another 3 years . So , these trees show great character , vitality and nobility .
