Another view of the Langevin Bridge lit in the color of Lyme to alert the public to Lyme disease. Though the Bridge is lit to respect this disease we are yet to meet a doctor in Calgary who believes in it's existence and therefore the support and treatment needed

This is an unusual site! The grass in Fish Creek appeared to have suffered from a grass fire. However, there were tire treads left along with the lines caused by a vehicle where the fire had not burned. It is all very unusual.

The Langevin bridge connects Downtown Calgary with north-central Calgary communities such as Bridgeland by spanning the Bow River between 4th Ave and Memorial Drive.

It was lit up in the color of Lyme out of respect for Lyme disease last week. The hooks of a fence provided a rather appropriate foreground since the infection takes on a hook shape of it's own.

Interesting lines and colors were found just over the front entrance to the Bow Tower during the day. My 24-70f2.8L is a real brick in weight but it is my favourite lens and renders wonderful work.

I hired myself to photograph our house after renovations were completed and in preparation for sale. Yes, Lyme disease has taken it all; now we sell our house. I fought for this place all my life and now a bug not bigger than the head of a pin takes it all. Yes, the meak shall inherit the earth. Canadian Medical refuses to believe Lyme even exists. There is no support in Canada, thank goodness for the Centre for Infectious Disease Control located in San Fransisco for my ailling daughter.

I might as well get an interesting shot out of it. I like this angle because of the lines, different textures of rock floor, hardwood and stark white boarders. We even have radiant heat from under the slate floor. 15 years and now what?

There are so many talented photographers on flickr one can not help but be effected by their skill and sometimes their knowledge. Many concentrate on architecture and find images within images making striking photographs.
Fortunately I get to share with them because their work grabs my attention each and every time they post a shot and to them I say thank you for sharing.

I do these stairs every day in an attempt to keep the chubbies off. Only 5 flights but it keeps the heart pumping and in this case, made for an interesting study in lines and architecture.

Canada's Sports Hall of Fame

While most Hall's of Fame in Canada are dedicated to one sport, this one in Calgary is for all sports. It is located at COP, Calgary Olympic Park and celebrates all sports in Canada from a Formula 1 racing car to hockey memorabilia, skiing, running and much much more. During the day it is a stark grey square, but a night, it really lights up.

Yes it is the end of the sailing season for 2012 on the resevoir. Many have been removed and put up on blocks. However, with the unusually warm weather of 24c each day, diehards press into Fall looking for one more day on the water

Not! It is really the Peace Bridge in Calgary and a night shot reveals some interesting lines.

A favourite place in my house that is now for sale is the breakfast nook. Just off the kitchen is a bay window where we often eat. Filled with the warmth of the sun on a cold day, it is a common area where I used to challenge my kids over dinner with "Who wants to be a Bulmanair".

Like the show "millionaire", I would ask the girls questions over dinner about their homework. They would be given points and scored. Interesting how it always ended in a tie, all were happy, we laughed and they would show off their knowledge of the days teachings.

Unique to Calgary is the "Plus 15". Joining many buildings with each other is a walkway that crosses the street below and it is usually 15' from ground level, hence the name.
Here, the foreground is left in the dark where a "Plus 15" is located while one of many buildings reaches for that famous Alberta blue sky.

I was in the Ramsey area so figured I would catch a night shot since it offers a marvelous view from a raised area. Including the Calgary Saddledome seemed timely with the announcement of the NHL lock out and no hockey so far. It is a battle of players versus owners, millionaires vs billionaires. However, the lights from the dome make for a dazzling display.
