we played with sparklers this weekend! it took a few tries to get the exposure and timing right!

Another image from Alasaka! We went whale watching & saw some amazing humpbacks.

The mist on the right of the image is the air the humpback just blew out.

Went on a trip to Alaska with my family! It was fantastic!

I love how these sea lions are just lounging and enjoying the sunshine. We had some warm weather while we were there. Glaciers in the background.

bought some gorgeous sunflowers this weekend! i always love them! they make me smile.

This weekend we went to Boothe Napa Valley State Park, home of one of the few working water power generated mills in the country. We took a fantastic tour by the miller who works there to still produce excellent flour, and cornmeal today!

In fall 2003, I took a roadtrip with 3 of my girlfriends from college to my hometown. We surprised my parents & just showed up for the weekend! One day we went to see the Niagara Falls! We took the boat tour on the last day it was open for the year. Such a great adventure with fantastic friends.

my freshman year in college I went on a road trip with 5 friends all over the Eastern US. one of our stops was in Panama City, FL. At the beach we attempted to do some poses with handstands. the failed attempts were hilarious! we have so many great memories together from this trip!

sorry i have been so MIA. i have a big exam coming up in 2 weeks, so i just haven't gotten a chance to pick up my camera much.

this weekend we went to Whole Earth Festival on the UC Davis campus. a friend was dancing in a flamenco performance. more photos to come. this is anita, watching the show!

Here's my 10 things:

1. I'm a nerd. I guess that's what happens when you're a PhD student & engineer.
2. I love reading, especially mysteries, even though I hate scary movies.
3. I really love traveling. I've been to a lot of places. Ask me about it if you want to know more...
4. I'm pretty competitive.
5. I like to bake, but don't do it often enough.
6. I'm into weightlifting & sports. I play ultimate frisbee, softball & I like cycling. I also like soccer.
7. I've torn both my ACL's due to soccer injuries & have also had shoulder surgery due to an ultimate injury.
8. I live in CA now, but grew up in Rochester, NY
9. I really really love peanut butter.
10. I'm still learning a lot about my camera & photography. I'm having so much fun with it!
