This isn't the best photo, but this was the biggest one of these lizards (Broad Headed Skink) I've seen around here...in full breeding colors...at least 10 inches tip to tail. On my deck, but skittish...hoping for a better shot soon.

Looking forward to the 17 year cicadas emerging soon. This is a shot from a couple of years ago when the 13 year ones hatched.

A bunch of these guys hatched out around my house this morning. Not our usual 'July Flies' (cicada), but a smaller cyclical version that hatches every few years.
