Yesterday was the last day of the Brighton Tattoo Convention 2013! It's the first convention I've been to in maybe about two years or so (Maybe since this picture - www.flickr.com/photos/b-love/5404187031) and there were so many great artists there exhibiting their designs. Though I don't have a tattoo myself, I'm fascinated by them and I love visiting all the stalls and checking out all the individual styles on show.

While going through a pile of papers that were heading for the bin, I stumbled across my original "sketch" (/doodle/crap pile) for when I was trying to come with ideas for a poster for a screening of the Korean monster movie The Host, directed by Bong Joon-ho.

I feel really lucky to occasionally have the chance to turn things that I think about into things that can be actually put on show and used for something instead of just being a doodle on a bit of A4 paper that goes onto my "possible projects" pile.

Yay. Barnes was kind enough to help me take the lower photo.

One of the images I shot on the set of the NFTS student short "The Heart", which was written, designed, directed, shot and produced by some of the nicest people ever.

It was a really fun few days, lots of laughs and fake blood.

I've just been going through and selecting a huge range of photos to submit as the sum of my two days work on the set of "The Heart", a short visual/special effects film produced at the NFTS. This is one that probably won't be included in them, but I just can't resist taking photos of tattoos.

A few months ago, Helen asked if I could visit her where she's studying at the National Film and Television School to take some stills for her first year film project, which she produced.

As over the last few days, I went up again to take stills for another short project, it seemed about time to upload one or two from the first one.

So, I'm back from Japan.

AND BOY HOWDY were there monkeys there. This was taken at a nature reserve...mountain...thing...in Oita. Never seen so many dang monkeys in my life.

These two were particularly melancholy. Perhaps it was a bad day on Monkey Mountain ='(

Well flickr, I am off to Japan for the first time ever, after wanting to go for about 10 years.
