Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games will end today.
Just new note ... I should change Inukshuk to more gold ....Canada has gold in our national game
We won hockey in OT !!!!!!!!!!!!

After all the excitement I only hope that a lot of people will come and visit this beautiful city. Many things could be said about the games . There will be time to summarizer all but one thing is certain - this city will never be the same.

Here is the Inukshuk , symbol of the Olympics, very foreign to this region but traditionally in the North used as a navigational marker and may it guide you here. Vancouver is surrounded by incredible nature and inside is remarkable mixture of cultures that found the way to work together.

George www.flickr.com/photos/xenotar28/ suggested it , I'm still not comfortable with B&W. I often think that many of us try to use B&W in some way to glorify … make it more sophisticated. There are some images that ask for B&W , in some cases colors doesn't benefit the image. I'm not sure about this one. .. plus I changed crop as well. Honest opinions always very appreciated – let it rip , I'm not that sensitive :-)

2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics Logo - Inukshuk !?X !!?? … Made by Inuit from a single piece of local stone found in the Arctic !?!? We have so many symbols of Vancouver and BC but NO we had to borrow something from the Arctic. How many Inuits live in Vancouver. One of the factors for this to be logo of the OUR Olympics – kids can draw it easily … so they can draw “Stick Man” as well. I think absolutely perfect symbol would have been “Spirit Bear” - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kermode_bear … but instead we have Inuit “stick man” and mascots that really are more suited to Japanese cartoons www.vancouver2010.com/store-us//catmascot-catmascotpins-p...

Still I like the sculpture , plus it's in a such a perfect spot that it was a truly a pleasure to take few pictures. This was the last image of the early morning trip to Stanley Park and by that time we were done … no more pictures. I will post few more from the park but bit later.

KD Lang Hallelujah at the Opening Ceremonies of 2010 Winter ( Spring ) Olympic Games has moved a lot of people. For many it was the highlight of the ceremonies. I really like Leonard Cohen but as he would say a lot of people can sing his songs better than him … I still like him the most. I had that song stuck in my head for last couple of days

I’m trying to get back to images I shot downtown Vancouver and Stanley Park in February. Here is image of Royal Vancouver Yacht Club in Stanley Park. Building in far background with sails is Canada Place – our convention center and Pan Pacific Hotel. Building under construction is our new convention center, that will be serving Vancouver – Whistler 2010 Winter Olympic Games. Image itself , believe or not is much changed with PS – colors may not look natural , but it was taken after sunset with perfect purple haze.
