According to a report that has just come in to the studio, the Metropolitan Art Police today carried out raids all over London against suspected art-sharers. According to a well known art news website, the bulk of police action seems to have taken place in the East End of London. A well known street art gallery in Commercial Street, London has repeatedly denied reports of police raids, saying that officers had visited them to ask a few questions about suspect VIP addresses, but no actual artworks or other goods had been seized. The gallery concerned says that they are currently open by appointment only and have restricted all sharing to legitimate Team Robbo artwork.

Simultaneous raids are also said to have been carried out in Sweden, USA, Belgium, Norway, Germany, the Czech Republic and Hungary. Today's action, targeting the so-called 'Artwarz Scene', is said to have been in planning for two years, and is believed to have taken place at the request of the Arts Council, Great Britain, who are seeking to protect both well-established, as well as young and innocent artists from the sharers.

Of course we'll keep you updated as further details emerge.

OK - a little surprise for the Boss this afternoon, but we didn't quite reckon on the effect. We respect our Boss - don't get me wrong - but sometimes he's a total bully and screams at us all. Although he usually only humiliates us when we make a mistake, he's beginning to realise that it's a pretty dumb strategy for making the studio a happy place. As a kind of joke, we all clubbed together to buy this little piece... unfortunately our prank backfired - it knocked him out for the rest of the day.

What's wrong with all you artists? - It's just a picture...this is bullshit.

Pranksky posted a photo:

The courtyard at the Royal Academy of Arts in London provides the perfect setting for this fine bronze King Robbo sculpture by Team Robbo, which is their contribution to The King's Artists exhibition that is due to open at the RA at the end of this month. The piece has been supported by Prank Sky Media and is on loan from the company for the duration of the exhibition - they are likely to go down in the history books as one of the RA's great patrons, maintaining the long standing historical connection between the monarchy and the Royal Academy from its foundation in 1768 to the present day.

The technology that Team Robbo have used to create the text based metal forms simulates natural selection using a 'survival of the fittest' rule. The difference is that, instead of plants and animals competing, different versions of artistic software are battling for their place in the next generation. A Darwinian process is set up so that the better forms will have lots of copies (versions similar or identical) in the next generation and the less desirable shapes are eliminated. What makes some forms 'better' than others is determined by the artists or writers setting up the experiment (e.g., the ability to get out of mazes, drive a car without crashing, control a legged robot, etc). Over time the software gets better and better since mutations (random changes in the programs) and 'sex' (combining a portion of the code of one form with a portion of another) will occasionally produce a form that is a slight improvement over its parents. This slightly better software will thrive for a while until it too is replaced by the next slightly better software. Given enough generations, these small changes can add up to produce rats, monkeys, politicians and poets. Natural selection, plus a lot of time, produced all of the "endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful" on this planet, to quote Darwin. In a computer world, because generations can happen in microseconds, we don't need millions of Earth years to pass before interesting things begin to happen. Evolutionary computation has frequently come up with better designs than any artist.

The finishing touches were being made today at Team Robbo's HQ in Camden, London, to the crews 'travelling roadshow' vehicle, that will soon set off around the world to collect writer's pieces that are to be brought back for display in the city. The vehicle has been kitted out with all the very latest interactive artistic technology which is not usually found outside the crew's research labs, and will provide visitors with amazing views of the collective in action. Requests for bookings are still being taken ...if you would like the roadshow to visit your city, feel free to drop us a line here at PSM and we'll see what we can do.

Team Robbo show their mettle...in readiness for the topping out ceremony at the Shard, London in May this year.

A nearly twenty metre diameter sculpture of one of Team Robbo's most famous pieces, will soon be unveiled at the Shard, London Bridge - Europe's tallest building.

The piece is destined to grace the very top of the Shard tower. As a result, people arriving by air in London have a double celebration. Not only do they get pleasure from seeing the Team Robbo masterpiece when they first arrive in London but they will also be able to rock to the Team Robbo radio show in crystal clear FM sound, when Kane FM starts broadcasting their fortnightly shows over the 'airways' from a new high power transmitter, incorporated discreetly within the sculpture itself.

Another brainwave from London Graffiti Tours who recently launched an advertising campaign master-minded by Poster Boy - from NYC. He was (probably) spotted today on a LGT Graffiti Master bus by one our of photographers in the West End, but the company has not surprisingly, refused to verify his identity. We sincerely hope that the initiative gives LGT the boost in customer numbers that they are hoping for...we are even thinking of hiring the bus ourselves for our next staff outing, if they'll let us use our Oyster cards.

Thanks to our photographer Chadhound and Poster Boy - of course.

One of our reporters took up the invitation to attend a press conference at the HRH King Robbo centre in Camden yesterday where he was able to pose questions to Alik, the head of Team Robbo - Moscow. He refused to make any comments on current or future operations and gave more or less the same answer to all our other questions - however when it came to discussion about the new 'Banski', he became very agitated and kept on saying "мой друг!" - we believe he meant that he has a friend who will be taking care of that problem.

A well respected art gallery based in Savile Row, London has recently sold a very rare and previously unseen Robbo piece to a wealthy Hollywood actress (Irene Adler - star of The Five Orange Pips) for an undisclosed sum.

It's not really surprising to us that the gallery appointed the London Metropolitan Art Police to guard the piece until it is shipped out to the USA at the end of the month, but we do feel that a little more discretion would be in order.
