Legoland Florida Reaction: Little Havana

Finally getting around to some overdue photo uploading...

I designed a bunch of stuff in the Little Havana area of the Florida cluster of Miniland in Legoland Florida, including Maximo Gomez Park ("Domino Park") with the "Hemispheric Summit of the Americas" mural on it, the Calle Ocho street festival (featuring minilanders representing many South American nations,) some cars, a wrestling ring, a conga line, giant chicken statues, and much of the street garniture like parking meters and planters.

While we were visiting the park, my coworker's mom noticed this woman reacting to things nearby, and I started shooting as she kept finding new things to be excited about. Since I won't get to visit LLF very often, if ever again, this moment was so fulfilling and special to me after all the hours and days and months of work putting this attraction together with my fellow model shop designers, builders, and associates.

En route back home to California from Florida, Gary blacked out. When he awoke, he found himself with a brand new head and in a strange new place and in the company of a strange new friend.

Gary and George hit it off immediately, bonding over a love of Classic Space and fine manbags.

Gary soon learned that he was at the Brick Factor competition to find the new Master Model Builder for the upcoming Legoland Discovery Center in Atlanta.

Gary found the real winners of the Brick Factor competition: the kids who helped his friend Ryan build an awesome final model and made him immensely happy even though he didn't land the job. Thanks, kids.

And thanks for the umbrella. Gary hates getting wet.
