The London Eye is a giant Ferris wheel situated on the banks of the River Thames in London, England. The entire structure is 135 metres (443 ft) tall and the wheel has a diameter of 120 metres (394 ft).It is the tallest Ferris wheel in Europe.

tide mill of mourisca Situated in the Natural Reserve of the Sado Estuary, the Tide Mill of moorish possibly original seventeenth century, located in the Moorish Estate, near Faralhão, an area of salt marsh and surrounded by land formerly used for growing rice.

A tombstone inside the building exposes the date of 1601, indicating a possible construction year that the mill, operating at a dam, the force of the water current to set in motion the wheels responsible for the production of flour.

Once filled the dam - also called boiler - the water flow resulting from the high tide, the gate was closed communication between it and the river. With low tide, the gates were open that closed the boiler, the pejadouros, and by water current created artificially placed to rotate the caster, wheel horizontally arranged, consisting of a set of tabs and linked to millstones .

Six millstones, responsible for the grinding of cereal grains for making flour, manning the Tide Mill of Moorish, space in the first half of the twentieth century, has undergone improvements, having at that time been raised about the pavement fifty centimeters.

The rhythm of the tides, the moon influenced as well as the fact only possible to put the caster run dry, allow only the production of flour for three to four hours a tide twice a day.
