One of the first test images taken with the eCAM32 3.2 megapixel camera from e-con Systems. The camera hardware seems to be very good but it making the driver work was not without challenge. Keep in mind though that I am relatively new to the openembedded world.

eCAM32 Video Stream

First successful video stream coming from the eCAM32 by e-Con Systems connected to the Gumstix Overo Water running my own custom built DSP image.
The video is 640x480 pixels at 15 fps encoded using the DSP in the OMAP3530.
CPU load on the ARM is around 40%.

The cameras from e-con Systems arrived Friday, September 30, 2011. Note that they have also included microSD cards for testing the cameras.
