Below is an excerpt from my travel blog. Cheers.

Fashion week comes around New York City twice a year. I work for an agency called BFA that sends various photographers around the city to shoot the related events. It's a blast. The people are interesting, venues are great and it's hard to take bad photos of models. I really get into the black and white photos of NYC nightlife. Such an edgy feel.

The above shot is of a model at the LaQuan Smith 2012 Fall Presentation at the Bryant Park Hotel, NYC.

Below is an excerpt from my travel blog. Cheers.
A quick break from my Patagonia/Argentina trip photos. I was walking back home from an event last night here in New York City. The weather has been terrible the last 2 days - rain and even snow has fallen on the city. I froze my hands off while taking this photo, but I cannot pass up an opportunity to shoot a nighttime photo when the city is all wet and shiny.

This photo was taken on the corner of 5th Avenue and 20th street looking north at the Empire State Building. The fog also creates a very 'New York' like mood that you find in classic hollywood videos that take place in this city.

Lower East Side Nightlife Culture, NYC

WanderingtheWorld (www.LostManProject.com) posted a photo:

This is not an HDR shot. It might look a little surreal because it's shot with a flash but I was going through some of my photos tonight and decided I'd throw this up. I feel like it really says a lot in this one photo. To me, this is a common scene when you go out at night in downtown manhattan. I quickly got over the doorman/club scene where people buy expensive bottles of champagne and liquor. When you first get to NYC it's quite an experience but I naturally migrated back to the dive bar scene with my Wisconsin roots. This is someone who is quite well known (in the modeling world).... it's hard to tell because of her pose. I won't say who it is but it's fun to guess right?

TIP - I shot this with a digital SLR with a flash. The squiggly lines in the shot is because after the flash shoots if there's any particular bright light the sensor will pick that up and nothing else as its too dark without a flash. In other words - the flash shoots - the camera exposes for that instant - after the flash goes off and the shutter stays open only bright items such as fluorescent lights take over and adds a nightlife like scene almost like your in the twilight zone. You can really get some cool crazy effects.
