Hope you're well! Not sure about this new look Flickr has gone for, I can't find anything!

Just got back from an AMAZING week in Malta, if you havent ever been, i'd recommend it, it was a lovely temperature, friendly people and loads to see!
I spent the week doing a diving course which was super, the water is amazingly clear, so much to see too, saw octopuses, moray eels and SO many different fish.

There is a brilliant town on the coast called marsaxlokk which is the main fishing port where I took this pic, really nice to walk around!

Deadline tomorrow and Friday but time for a quick upload!
Taken back in the summer, got lucky as this fella emerged from the door way at just the right time.

In other news, signing for a house today for next year at uni. Moving next door! Ha, a grand 10ft MAX. We're currently in a 7 bed house but we're losing one of the girls next year to a year in industry and next door happens to be a 6 bed AND £6 a week cheaper! Wonderful! Celebratory dinner of reduced to clear steak later! Can't wait!

Looking forward to a quiet, chilled weekend coming up.
Hope youre all well!
Explored, thanks guys!" />

Doing some research into the local area, early stages of the upcoming project.
I've decided as its a community based centre it'd make more sense to go out and talk to the local residents. Had a nice chat with this lady who lived 10m from the site, really interesting to hear what she thought, there is nowhere for her to go to get a coffee or tea nearby so she wants a cafe.
Hopefully this will be the start of a possible series of documentary portraits, with their stories/quotes, we've been told 2nd year is the time for trying out new things, hopefully it will go down well. Perhaps do more with the 50mm! Tried some pretty harsh processing to try and give that hardened/toughened feel! Perhaps too much..

Righty, last one of these for a while now I think! Running low on them, means I need to get out with the camera to upload some fresh stuff!
Just adore the lines of the building! Irresistible!
Enjoying this bit of time at home, caught up with friends and family but need to start working at some point annoyingly. The time is flying by! House sitting for the next couple of days so should provide some quiet time to get cracking on it!
Decided to do my own passport style photos for re applying for work next summer, not quite as easy as it looks, firstly we have no white walls! ha

1/3rd of an ipad for christmas so if anyone has got any killer apps for me to add to my list, please do! Can't wait to open it up! I had to go buy it myself to make sure I got a student discount to have to hand it back to mum when I got home! haha
Hope you're all having a good festive season so far!

Hi all, hope you're well, tolerating this chill we're going through?!

Another re edit for tonight, had a bit of a creative block when it comes to this Graz project so had another look through the pics I took around the city and this one, again of the MUMUTH jumped out at me begging for another edit! More fantastic concrete work!
Going home next Fri, last push for the end, lots to get done for Tues, need to think up a design for a kayak centre and draw up a few loose plans for it. Eeeh. Then a case study for Weds and then hopefully get cracking on an essay about sustainability. JOY! More I do now, less I have to do over xmas... keep thinking that.

Christmas party on Friday night then we;re doing a house meal on Sunday, i'm the cook! ha looking forward to it!
Quick revisit to an older shot of the IWMN, different crop and a play on the processing. Quite like the angles and lines personally and thought the square crop worked pretty well.

Been super busy working on our pavilion project.
Its coming along nicely, all the wood has been bought and we've cut out 2/3 of the panels, I've spent the past couple of days varnishing it all, SO time consuming and headachy! ha but its all good fun, lots of tea and bics and chit chat as well as ventilation! Strong old stuff! Nasty when you get it on your hands, looks like you run a dodgy fake tanning salon plus it takes white spirit to get it off! Bleurgh.
Actual build on site is this time next week! :D can't wait! We then have 3 days to prepare a portfolio for hand in later that week! Eeep.

My Landscape Photographer of the Year book arrived today, cept it was delivered next door and they've been out the whole day, so that'll have to wait til the morning! Looking forward to having a browse!

Hello all! Hope we're well?!
Thanks for the bday messages too folks! :)

Old shot but played around with it tonight to tweak and tune it as I fancied an upload before cracking on with work! Imported the sky from a different photo and replaced the slightly boring mundane grey sky which was in the original.
This building is just down the road from oxford circus if you are walking down towards tottenham court road on the right hand side there is a side turning on the right and its there. Lucky find, it just caught my eye. I really like it.

In other news, our project has got rolling and is actually gettting pretty exciting. Think its because its so 'proper' live client and what not, that and we're competing with other groups! Had a productive day today working on it. Full on day of lectures tomo though which is a shame. ha

Hi all! Hope we're well?!
Realised I haven't uploaded anything in a little while... one from the past.
Back up in Manc now, well until Thurs, going home for Fri-Sun to work and then again the weekend after too. Just to finish off my contract so I can get a reference from it and to hopefully be invited back to work next summer. Going to be a tiring few weeks.

Birthday today, and i've not got any lectures or tutorials today which is cracking, not going to do TOO much tonight as we've got a field trip to Dunham Massey tomorrow for our first project of second year. Its a sort of competition, there are 5 sites and about 12 groups of 4-5 people each come up with a 'pavilion/installation' and the 'best' one (in the National Trust's eyes) will be picked to be installed in the grounds for a year. We then have to fundraise and construct them ourselves too. :) Got some ideas floating around my head already.

This shot was taken back in Oct almost a year ago now! Thought it tied in nicely with my pavilion/installation project. It is Aeolius, a sort of harp like sculpture which has lots of strings and pipes and makes a really eery noise! Very cool though.

Hope the weather brightens up a bit too, rain rain rain for the foreseeable future!

Hello all!
Hope we're well?
Been a busy week! Had our work end of summer ball last night which was quality! Black tie do, LOVE dressing up in the gear. Went for the self tie bow too! :P Late night though, luckily I had today off! :) others weren't so lucky, feel for them today! haha

Taken back at the beginning of summer when I visited the Strata building on a clear blue sky day. The shots lent themselves nicely for a high contrast mono I thought.

Back up to Uni on Weds-Thurs then working a three day weekend for the first three weekends. Going to be full on I think but we'll see how it goes! Can't believe how quickly the summer has passed! Almost had 4 months off, wheres it gone?!?!

Hi all! How are we?!
Been pretty busy recently... but all good! Keeps me out of trouble! :P

Had a cracking evening a couple of days ago with lColin, check out his stranger portraits, AMAZING. We pottered around the south bank and then cracked out the tripods when it got dark, yet to process them but all in good time!

Snapped this a while ago, spotted this friendly looking chap sitting listening to some buskers so wandered up and asked if I could take his photo, he seemed a tad confused but smiled away. Gutted the tree is coming out of his head though! ha oh wells. I like the tones on his face and glasses mainly.

Back to Uni on the 19th Sept and coming home for the first few weekends just to finish off work days i can't get covered for. Really great crowd at work this year, summer is flying by and i'm earning money! :) best of both worlds really.

Hi all! Hope we're well?!
Little to report, but good news, my HD has been saved! It took 3 weeks but I should receive it in the post with all my years pics too! Cost a pretty penny :( but i'm working on a draft letter to Seagate expressing my HUGE dissatisfaction in their products! At least i'll have all my pics again though. :)
Just had 2 days off, caught up on sleep day 1, hadn't had a day off for 2 weeks really and those 6.30am s are grim then today I spent the day with my old school friend Tom which was great,..
Back to work tomorrow, really enjoying it this year, some really nice people, friendly and cheerful! Makes getting up in the morning a bit easier!
No plans for the immediate future really, might be popping up to Manc next week possibly to pick up my keys and move some stuff up... who knows!
Hope we;re well!
Couple of days off today and tomorrow, down at the sailing club helping out with their 'Cadet Week' basically teaching groups of kids to sail, great fun! Wish I could do it all summer, not just 2 days! Nice to see all the sailing club guys again after a long stint away... so far i've worked every weekend of my hols and thats the only time the club is open! Going to start sailing again at Uni, miss it too much!
Off to a bbq now with the crowd, will catch up with streams all in good time! :)
Thanks for looking!
I was having a hard drive tidy up yesterday and ended up looking through my old pics on an external drive and went through the India ones when I went almost 3 years ago on a charity trip to teach English.
We spent a couple of nights in a very very remote village, no running water/electricity, just a pump in the middle of the village. VERY rural. What a great place it was, so friendly and welcoming.
This was the village potter who gave us a demo, he used a stick to spin the plate around fast then before it lost too much momentum, just made a pot, just like that! Incredible.
Back at Uni now, work ahoy! :|
Hope you're all well!

Hi all!
Hope you're having a very merry Christmas!?
Last couple of days have been a blur of seeing family and glorious food which has been great!
If anyone has any iPad apps to recommend that'd be brilliant, slowly setting it all up, very chuffed with it! Pics looks unbelievably clear on it.
Another one from Graz i'm afraid, this is the new Universalmuseum Joanneum museum, all underground with light wells coming in, VERY cool and only opened this year.
Enjoy the little bit between xmas and new year and a very happy new year to everyone when it comes, thanks for all your support, comments and great pics over the past year!
The Reichstag, Berlin; Norman Foster

Hi all!
Off to Austria in the early hours for a study trip to the city of Graz, via Vienna and Bratislava as Graz is a bit of a mission to get to!
Thought it'd be good to pop up a photo from last years trip to Berlin.
The Reichstag by Norman Foster, an incredibly impressive piece of work.

We have much more work to do out there compared to last year and I fear that the stint from the return up until Christmas maybe tough. We shall see!

Have a great week all!
