We live in apple orchard country here in Edneyville. Apple trees are awesome. In the winter they take on a scary appearance, but in the spring they transform like an ugly duckling into a beautiful swan. They are sooo breath taking in full bloom. And so green through the summer. Come Autumn they are full of wonderful apples!

I did a self portrait. I am getting the hang of it now. Nine months ago I stopped dying my hair. I was so sick of having to do it every two weeks and my hair was like straw. I had long hair. I buzzed it all off. Down to 3/4 of an inch and started fresh. I have been documenting my growth monthly since then. This is my ninth month photo. I plan to do this for one year. So taking a picture of myself every month has relaxed me some in front of the camera. This was one of the best decisions of my life!

I am trying to learn about lighting. I was playing around with my daughter and her friend. I don't know about the lighting on this one. If it looks too flat. Does it look too bright? I am trying to learn the placement of lights. Trial and error.

Finally, I got a speed-lite. I know I am late. But with so many children my photography desires come last. I was up early reading about lighting and my youngest wakes up. Only to promptly fall back asleep on the couch. I bounced the flash off the ceiling. I am trying learn about off camera lighting next.

I was doing a photo shoot with a friend who is an interior designer. So we were in Pier One. I was using my 50mm because I didn't want to use a flash. So here is my example of 50mm indoors. I realize it is a few days before the dates it should be. Just wanted to share.

My daughter forgot to take her lunch to school yesterday. After dropping it off to her I couldn't miss the early morning light. I only had my iphone with me though. I was pretty pleased with how the pictures turned out.
