Got to take an awesome trip to the philadelphia museum of art today. so this is part of cy twombly's collection of interpretations of the iliad. a few years ago i probably would have looked at this and been confused or displeased, but now i find myself enjoying art i never would have imagined myself appreciating. twombly's work incorporates the names found in the iliad and i found it fascinating to see the names paired with different colored clouds here. so i propped my camera on a bench, grabbed a seat, and took a moment to expand my understanding of more contemporary art. there goes the museum girl in me again. sooo i can almost taste spring break! cant wait. :)
(aside from all that, i really like how it looks like the clouds are thought bubbles above my head. right on!)

i know, i know. it has been a RIDICULOUSLY long time since i have uploaded anything to flickr. i have been sooo busy with school work and i get caught up in other activities that i really neglect photo time (and also alone time for that matter (i believe the two often go hand in hand)). so today, after taking photos for the history department for history day, i realized i had the precious opportunity to wander around campus with just my camera. i wasn't even planning on doing self portraits but i did take this one and i liked it. i would highly recommend just taking a random morning to slowly walk through the woods and enjoy the little things in creation (note this is not for my creation project. but hey, why not create photos along with that).

so... that's that. it's been too long and hopefully i can take some more time to get back into what i love so much! <3
(oh yeah, and goodbye flickr pro. :/)

my first picture i've uploaded since i've started college! i'm ashamed to call myself a photographer because i have really been neglecting taking any pictures. i'm not currently in any photography course so i feel like without that motivation to do photoshoots for class, i just don't get anything done. but i'm going to try a bit harder so i don't lose what i got from taking photography throughout high school. sorry to make excuses (i'm not even going to start on my computer screen). actually, how does this look? because my computer screen is really messed up so my colors and shadows and whatnot are probably off. so i'm sorry. i need to get that fixed. allright. adios. (and new cover photo? i think so)

(oh and btw, these are from my new camera woop woop. which i have officially named, "Oswald." the middle name i want to go for something spanish but i haven't decided yet)

(wow. i totally forgot i was doing a 52 weeks project. sorry. getting on updating that right now)

(and sorry for those random family pictures that came up as "public". they weren't supposed to be made public. i had shot my cousins graduation so i had all of those pictures on flickr but marked as private so.... i hope i wasn't hacked or anything... that would stink)

I haven't been too pleased with my pictures lately (in fact i haven't uploaded anything for real in forever) so i was really happy editing this today. :) now all i need is my wireless mouse back and photoshop will be easy peasy again.

Here is an example of something we saw during my mission trip to Joplin. It was incredible to see God working not only in our lives but in the lives of the people affected by the tornado. They had been through so much, yet they still remained strong in their faith and hope. I know that I will never be the same after this and I pray that we made as much of a difference to Joplin as it did to us. <3

HOLY COW! i just realized something that i never realized before! my AP photo concentration was revolved around a storm and wind and destruction and oh my goodness that's what i experienced this week! holy cow. Isn't it crazy how I had chosen this as my concentration way before I even knew God wanted me to go to Joplin??? All I can say is........ "Yeeeeeeeaaaahhhhhhhhh God!" *CLAP* hahah :D

i have no clue.
i was just going through all my photos and i haven't even scratched the surface of the ones i want to edit.
and i finally got my new camera! after years of patiently waiting i have my new baby. i still need to name it though. and test out this crazy awesome lens. so when i do, i shall let the flickr community know. i may go for a spanish-style name. not sure yet. haha

our ap photo final project was to copy the style of another photographer in our class after receiving their name on a sheet of paper and i got nicole! so this is from forever ago, and i thought it would fit but ill be doing another one that more fits her old concentration. check out her stream (she actually went to the place where this picture was taken! cool beans!)
