Brian Cathcart, professor of journalism at Kingston University London and a founder of the Hacked Off campaign. A specialist adviser to the HoC media select committee in 2008-10. He was a journalist at Reuters, the Independent papers and the New Statesman, among others. He has written books on a wide range of subjects including the murder of Stephen Lawrence and Jill Dando, the history of nuclear science and was the author of "Were you still up for Portillo" and "Hacked Off".

Campaigners at Stanmore Fire Station.
The London mayor is cutting the number of fire stations, the number of firefighters and the number of appliances. It should be noted that the number of fire stations has not increased since well before the London Local Government reorganisation of the 1960s despite the large increase in the size and population of the city and the traffic density.

In light of the June 2011 allegations of the News of the World journalists phone hacking into the mobilephone voice mail of murder victim Milly Dowler, on 5 July 2011 in partnership with Professor Brian Cathcart and other concerned individuals, Media Standards Trust formed the "Hacked Off" campaign. Registering the site hackinginquiry.org, the campaign aimed to campaign for a public inquiry into phone hacking. The campaign was directly supported by: Lord Fowler, Professor Onora O’Neill, Francis Wheen, Tom Watson MP, Dr Ben Goldacre, Baroness Helena Kennedy, Sir David Bell, DD Guttenplan, Professor Roy Greenslade, Professor Ian Hargreaves, John Lloyd, Isabel Hilton, Ian Jack, John Pilger, John Prescott, Richard Peppiatt, Andreas Whittam Smith and others. Soon after launch, the campaign gained the support of actor Hugh Grant, who became a public spokesperson, appearing on Question Time and Newsnight.

To raise money for St Lukes Hospice Harrow Council Leader Thaya Idaikkadar and Councillor Sue Anderson were among those "arrested" and "Locked Up". They were released on payment ofminimum of £1,000 "Bail". Well done to them and all the other people "arrested" and to the Metropolitan Police for their help.
St Luke’s is the local hospice for Harrow and Brent.
St Luke's care for people whose illnesses are no longer curable, enabling them to achieve the best possible quality of life during the final stages of their illness.
They are proud to offer their services free of charge and rely on the generosity of the community for over 75% of funding, the work can only continue with the support of the people, companies and organisations that give their time and money to fundraise on St Luke's behalf.

The Leader of Harrow Council at Wealdstone Police Station prior to being "arrested and locked up" to raise funds for St Lukes Hospice.
St Luke’s is the local hospice for Harrow and Brent. They care for people whose illnesses are no longer curable, enabling them to achieve the best possible quality of life during the final stages of their illness. They care for patients through our in-patient unit, out-patient clinics, and day care unit, as well as in their own homes through our community and home care teams. Coming to terms with a serious illness can be difficult and distressing. Everyone in the family, including friends can be affected, so the hospice and our staff and volunteers provide a warm, friendly and supportive environment in which everyone feels welcome.

They are proud to offer their services free of charge and rely on the generosity of the community for over 75% of our funding. This work can only continue with the support of the people, companies and organisations that give their time and money to fundraise on St Luke's behalf.
