'BAT'WOMAN with 'BAT'BABY

The Indian Flying Fox (Pteropus giganteus) is a species of megabat in the Pteropodidae family. Also known as the Greater Indian Fruit Bat, it lives mainly in forests. It is a very large bat with a wingspan between 1.2 and 1.5 m (3 ft 10 in and 4 ft 10 in). It is nocturnal and feeds mainly on ripe fruits, such as mangoes and bananas, and nectar. This bat is gregarious and lives in colonies which can number a few hundred.

Sometimes, you just have to be in the right place at the right time.
I knew there were a couple of Spotted Owlets in that area . . but for one to land on that beautifully-lit, twisted branch, to stare directly into the camera and with a lovely background to boot . . was asking for a little too much :)

The one at the rear seems to be a juvenile, not yet having acquired the bright red beak of the adult.
