Something bright for a Winter day. Had a delay on my trip so I might be able to process one more pic after this before I leave on Sunday. This is something a little different I was playing with. Wanted something very bright without blowing out the highlights.

Part of the training in the school I'm going to requires I be out of town for about three weeks. Will be leaving in the next day or two. Not sure if I will have internet where I am staying so might be off Flickr the rest of the month. I will miss you all and your wonderful creations. Shot this during the Dahlia show at the North Carolina Arboretum. This flower, not the pic, was one of the big winners of the show.

I have found it better to be very quiet and sneak up behind these Japanese Anemones when shooting photographs of them. This will lessen the risk of them being spooked and running off to the woods to hide!

Indian Summer Chrysanthemum

I took this at the local Chrysanthemum show in October. They are nice enough to allow me to pick what flowers I want to shoot and move them to a table set up just for photography with a black velvet back drop and extra lighting. This one was such a beautiful orange I couldn't resist. Didn't have the heart to crop this one but I did shoot one macro version which I'll post later.

This variety of Chrysanthemum is known as "Lily Grilley".
After not having a good place to set up my computer for so long I finally found a place and had a chance to process a pic. Have missed Flickr and all you Flickr friends so much this Winter. This was taken at the Chrysanthemum show at the North Carolina Arboretum.

Was doing closeups in this stream yesterday and wanted to get one distant shot. Could not get far enough away because of the river bank so ended up shooting a vertical panorama and stitching them in Photoshop.
