This is one of multiple "bays" like this that's been given over to anyone who would like to create Graffiti Art. And there were people in a couple of the garage bays creating new pieces. There were some very interesting pieces, many overlapping the work next to it. The trouble is it is all very temporary. Nothing is "sacred", so to speak. Everything gets painted over no matter how good it is or how bad.

I didn't know them but they were gracious as they walked by, exchanging Christmas greetings with us. With their bright red coats and that green bridge...I couldn't resist snapping a quick picture as they strode on through the snow. Merry Christmas, one and all!

This was quite the frosty morning when I took this over a year ago. I remember parking my car on the side of a local rode and getting my camera ready before I got out of the car. I had not prepared to stop as it was a spur of the moment impulse. After a few minutes out there I wished I had brought gloves with me...my fingers were freezing!

I stumbled on a small collection of images from that day and thought I would work on this one. The bricks are simply a texture I added as it seemed to work well with the grasses here.

People were all about. Milling. Wandering. Stopping and staring at the ruins, or remnants, of the surroundings. He sat there totally engrossed in his mapping out his next move. Ghostly? He didn't seem so there in mid-day light. But the camera tells a different story.

Pont des Arts may lure lovers from around the world to seal their love with a lock (to which they throw the key into the river below) but it also draws photographers by the boat load! Trying to get an angle without another photographer in the shot was an experience I didn't expect. To my delight this young girl seemed to waltz into my shot just at the right moment as her imagination seemed to just sweep her up into the moment as she explored these locks of love.

(Pont des Arts is a pedestrian only bridge over the river Seine in Paris.)
