This is my neighbourhood, and that's my local grocery store. I've lived here for the past seven years, not counting about half of my childhood. It sounds a bit tragic when I put it like that, but I think it's okay for now.

This is one of the office buildings being used by White arkitekter. They designed it themselves and it stood finished in 2003.

Part of the main hall in the Royal Opera House here in Stockholm. It has some really beautiful interiors and I was lucky to get to photograph them. Quite interesting lamps, yes?

Doesn't this look like some tunnel out of one of Nolan's Batman films? I kind of get that feeling anyway. I really like how the light is reflected in the wet flagstones.

I rarely include people in my landscape shots, but this group seemed interesting to me. I don't know who they are, but I heard them talking about studies in English so I suppose they are foreign and/or exchange students. We do of course recognize the Stockholm City Hall across the water, right?

This is my paternal grandparent's summer house. It's precious to me, because I have many childhood memories attached to it. My grandparents are old and will have to sell the place soon enough... it breaks my heart a little, but at least I'll always have photos like this. Photos to safeguard my memories.

Kista Galleria

I haven't done a lot of mall photography but here's an exception. This is the mall in Kista; covering about 60 000 m² it is one of the larger malls in Stockholm. I hadn't been here for many years but it looked more or less the same. As you can imagine, I almost slipped on the floor several times. I particularly enjoy how the reflections creates a turquoise cross toward the lower end of the photo.

The subway escalators seem to disappear into the mountain. I like how the escalator in the middle is still, to contrast the movement of the other two.

I got to do some photography with my childhood friend Károly this summer. Here I'm taking his picture while he's borrowing my tripod. The shot has a studio feel to it, but I only used the built-in flash and was surprised with the result myself.

We don't have a lot of modern architecture in Sweden. This is, with few exceptions, about as modern as it gets. However, we do have many parks. And quite a few tunnels. And dusk once every day! Yes, we have a lot to be proud of...

Would you dare to go down these steps? They look dangerous, who knows what awaits down there? Maybe the terrible cyclops killer? Well, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be lurking down these parts of Stockholm. It's actually the steps down to Tvärbanan in Globe City, which is a kind of subway... ultimately, it takes you to Sea City.

First of all, go see Middle Ground. It's the same subject, shot almost exactly one year earlier. Compare the photos. They are quite different, right? I don't know which one you like best, but this is obviously how I have developed as a photographer over the given time period.

House of Memories

This little country house is the subject of perhaps the earliest memory I have that can be dated. My great grandfather used to live here during summer, and I remember him in the house, among other things giving me pralines. He died back in 1988 when I was three and a half years old. He was sort of an intellectual, and he was very fond of me. My parents made up this story about him travelling to Africa because of the climate, not wanting to tell me that he was gone forever.

This is sort of a combined prayer room and child storage room. Most churches have a place where kids can sit and draw and whatnot; apparantly they aren't in tune with the silent reverence a church environment often demands. Of course, I've told you what I think of such silent reverence before.

Today it's March 9th. That means it's my birthday today. My 26th birthday to be exact. Last year, I got this beautiful sunset. I don't know what I will get this year, if anything at all. We'll see.
