belle tout lighthouse (now a hotel) an hour after sunset. actually arrived a little too early for star trails, so took this. it worked out quite well because at least when i was walking towards the cliff edge i had enough light to see...

must view larger.

i thought about cropping this a little tighter on the lighthouse, but i feel like it has more of an 'atmosphere' uncropped. little lighthouse on a cliff against the elements type of thing.

the remains of west pier in brighton. closed in 1975, the buildings burnt down in 2003. every couple of years someone comes up with a new renovation plan but in a way i'd rather leave it as it is. it has it's own bleak beauty. not quite what i want from a photo of it, i had to do far too much post!

my first serious attempt at star trails. cold, windy, a crick in my neck from sticking my head in my backpack so i could read without getting light on the camera and sat in sheep crap. totally worth it!

Weirwood Reservoir. Was hoping for something a little more dramatic sunset wise, but was good to get out landscape shooting again. Probably should've used a slightly higher aperture, bit out of practice. ND Grad 4.

got lucky with this one. went out to have a go with my new nd 8 expecting a boring cloudy sky and got one of the best sunsets i've ever seen.

finally got some decent results from the kiev... used a canon 33v to meter, appears the kiev ttl meter is still terrible even after i spent an hour calibrating it! i'm bad at holding the kiev straight though, i swear i carefully lined it up each time but most of the pictures are at an angle :)
