This is a closeup of some Christmas ornaments that were the ones my parents got for their first tree. They were always on the tree while I was growing up. One year my mom almost threw them out because the coating had tarnished so badly and they were so damaged, but I had a sentimental fit about them so she gave them to me. I put them on our tree every year. They're small, about the size of a golf ball, scratched, peeling, and discolored to a semi transparent cream and silver color. Some are missing their tops, some look burned, and one is missing. The box is falling apart, the lid won't stay on, but the little tissue papers that cradle each ball are still in the sections. Mom said she bought them at a discount department store. They have no value, except to me :) I hope you all have something of a treasure like this.

Rarely do I brag on myself... but is this fabulous or what?!!! I got lucky with the color of the bokeh. It was actually in a little garden area but was backlit by the bright sunshine. So I guess the sun blocked out all the color in the background and I got this silvery gray. Perfect with bright yellow.

The bottom sole plate of my iron. I love the pattern of all the holes, lines and curves. And it makes a smiley! I was really shocked at how scratched up the metal is! It's a fairly new iron and I'm very careful with it. It looks like I took sandpaper to it! The little dot where the mouth is is where a drop of steam has evaporated.

This is the sole or bottom plate of my iron. I liked how reflective it was. I was wearing a blue shirt which gave it a wash of pastel color. Little flecks of dust can be seen in the focused area.

This smells amazing!
