This is an older image from the first roll with the Rolleiflex SL66. Back then I didn't know that the shutter makes an uneven exposure at 1/1000s and 1/500s . So the lower part of the image is quite underexposed. But know I like the texture that the expired Portra and the underexposure produce.

Hey guys, I'm still hanging around here and thought it's time for a poppy-color spring image. I hope everyone on the northern hemisphere is able to enjoy the beauty of spring as well :)

I missed flickr a lot during the last weeks, but due to some trouble while the change of my internet provider, I was without an internet connection at home for almost a month. I was stil able to check mails at work, but that was it. To be honest, this time wasn't that bad because I learned to focus on things in real life a bit more, instead of checking the rss-feeds of the ~200 photography blogs I followed. I think I will not start reading this blogs again and instead use the time for the development of my photography. The downside of this? Now I'm having a huge scanning backlog... but that's another story. Thanks for reading, I'm now making my round through all your streams - wait, what did I just wrote about the focus on real life... :D

This is from the first roll that I shot with the Agfa Isola II. I bought this camera originally for a pinhole conversion, but it was in such a marvellous condition that I decided to use her as she is. I'm pretty impressed what this little and light weight medium format camera is capable of. I wasn't sure if there is a real difference between the two available shutter speeds but all images turned out well exposed :) Though I have to practise guess focusing at close distances a bit more (you'll see that in my next upload).

As much as I love to shoot with my analog cameras, scanning color negative film is still a challenge. This time I scanned the negative as positive and inverted/color corrected the image in Photoshop. Mayve I'll stick to this method as it worked quite well.

Thanks for reading :)

I can't believe it's March already, February went by so fast.
In the meantime I recreated my messed up still life session that you heard of in my last post (thanks again for the encouraging comments) and I finished the first roll with the Agfa Isola 2.
And now it's time for catching up with some streams :)

Well, I guess it is never too late for beginner's mistakes. Those who use medium format film probably noticed that this film is spooled inside out. It seems that I loaded the film accidentally the wrong way in the Rollfeiflex SL66 and hence only the backing paper was "exposed". So now there are 12 nice images of a still life photo session that only exist in my head, sigh...

Perplexity

Hey flickr, it has been a while since my last visit. But during the last weeks I spent more time playing my guitar rather than taking pictures. The main reason is that I'm a bit at a loss about how to proceed with my photography. I'm a person that doesn't like to repeat itself photographically, but that's what I actually did for the last three years. I took that same shallow dof/big bokeh/creamy tones/pretty sunlight/fence/flare/brenizer/[insert more popular flickr groups here] shots over and over again. Some of them came out nicely but, let's be honest, most of them are trivial crap - which was okay at that time, when all I wanted was some virtual attention and comments/favs. But now it's time to do something different and move on photographically. Right now the hard part is to figure out what this last sentence actually means and if there's a message I want to say with my photography.

I will experiment a lot within the next weeks but probably won't upload any of the results this year. However, I will stop by from time to time and visit my favourite streams.

The days become shorter and the nights get colder. It seems that autumn is near. This image was shot on b&w film but I played a bit with quadruplex toning in photoshop.
