What i love the most of all my travels is to meet these wonderful and interesting people, with different customs and traditions, to me it's like coming home!

This caste is called Rabari's or Dewasi and they are primarily cattle herders. Mainly in this part of rajasthan they have goats and sheep and their source of income. They 1) Sell the goats for meat, 2) Selling wool from sheep. 3) Selling milk from Goats.

Some of them also go on a migration with their animals a couple of thousand kilometres every year from november to July, with goats, sheep or cows or camels. The men wear Red turbans and white clothes. Sometimes they might use white turbans also. They also have a big silver bracelet in their hand, mostly right hand made of silver. Also earrings made from gold mostly. The men also like smoking tobacco in Chillums (small Pipe). They also sit together and drink Opium mixed with water, during festivals and ceremonies, after offering it to Gods. Custom is to offer it to each other as well.

Rabari women are normally in charge of taking care of all the family finances and hold a powerful position in the family being women and responsible for the family assets. They are like the boss of the family and also handle selling of animals and milk from their animals in the nearby towns to traders.
They wear big white bangles on their arms and that shows that they are married and their husband is still alive. Earlier these bangles were made up of Ivory but now they use camel bone or plastic for the bangles. They also wear skirts which are half a foot above the ground and you can see anklets weighing more than a kilogram in each ankle. Also they wear colourful clothes and nose and ear rings. They are also Called Harijans because it was a name given to these untouchables by Mahatma Gandhi, who gave them this new name, hence a Harijan Means"Sons of Gods".
