Structure Fire, 20 August 2011

pdksh posted a photo:

A call went out for a structure fire on Featherbed Ln. reportedly fully involved near the Manassas Battlefield. Units from Prince William, Fauquier, and Loudoun Counties were dispatched.

A batallion chief arrived on scene and reported a 2 story single family home was well involved. A few moments later, the batallion chief reported that fire had spread to brush around the home and a vehicle parked in front of the home.

It was also alleged over the radio that an outside propane tank near the home vented some time into the incident. I don't know if this ended up being true or not.

I have more pictures of the incident, but am being compelled not to publish them until the Prince William County Fire marshall's office completes its investigation.

It's amazing that after so many thousands of gallons of water ad foam were pored onto the structure that about 7 hours after the initial incident, units were dispatched to the same address to distinguish a rekindled fire.

The Prince William County Fire marshall's Office has completed it's investigation. Their investigation was unable to determine the cause of the fire, but did identify that it started on the exterior of the home. They indicate it is not a suspicious fire.

It's amazing that after so many thousands of gallons of water ad foam were pored onto the structure that about 7 hours after the initial incident, units were dispatched to the same address to distinguish a rekindled fire.
