As an artist, art teacher (and mother!) I am used to deal creatively with challenges. I am totally unhappy with several of the recent changes here and I need to find out if I can find a way to deal with them before I decide on leaving this community. And if I want to continue in a new one anyway.

One of the problems I have is the fullness of my stream. I am starting to loathe it and cannot get used to it (I open on my edit page which is a relief). Therefore I copy/pasted this image on a standard white background that I plan to use for all my new images. I tried it out with on black, which looks good of course on this single page, but makes the stream page even busier.
Using the same size background for all images will hopefully give some calming rhythm to the page. It will take some time before I have uploaded enough to have an idea.

Another step is making sets up to 40 images. More content will take too long to show. They will be more interesting than the stream (I change styles frequently; like I don't eat the same kind of food either every day)

I cannot change the 'speed' of images showing. All my uploads are only low res images; maybe that makes a difference on my stream.

Click on EDIT of your stream to get an old version without sets back.

I think it makes my photostream too full and too messy (less is more !!!). The thumbnails are so large that no-one will bother to click to enlarge (and perhaps make a comment). It takes ages for the photos to show (the BIG problem with the group pages that makes me refrain from leaving more comments). I liked the possibility to see and easy access the sets, not only on my stream but also on my friends'.

I am upset and unhappy, especially now that I must limit my computer time to the bare necessary (sorry that will have to be work) because the combination of processing photos + stress of the past year has left me with a seriously painful arm.

Maybe I should reconsider my account....

The southern part of the Dutch seacoast (province of Zeeland, consisting of several islands) is characterized by long rows of simple timber breakwaters at regular intervals. The low lands need to be protected don't they ;)

Last Sunday the weather promised to be good so I packed a nice picnic and we drove the 2 hrs to the beach. Too cold and windy for sunbathing (although after half a bottle of Crémant rosé brut I did have an attempt); a long walk was better.

The poles go up a long way into the beach, so you have to find openings to pass through. Most rows were empty, but for a single bird, but this specific breakwater was completely covered by gulls, all facing into the wind. Why remains the question. Better view?

At times they all flew up together making an incredible row, struggled a bit against the wind, turned around and let themselves speed back. They were really having fun!

I managed to make some pics, ISO 80, alcohol 12%. :)
