This is a beautiful 14th century farmhouse, deep, deep down in a valley in the Herefordshire countryside. When we visited in early May, the damson blossom was in full bloom from the orchards surrounding the house.

This is Coughton Court, a National Trust property in Warwickshire, associated with and still lived in by the Throckmorton. (Anyone who has seen Cate Blanchett's Elizabeth, The Golden Years, will have seen Bess Throckmorton, who was her companion/lady in waiting).

Coughton is pronounced Coat'n.

At Coughton Court in Warwickshire, England. I was amused by the people lining up on the top of the tower, looking just like a row of gargoyles.

Coughton is pronounced 'Coat'n'. This is a National Trust property.

Two photos (see the second one in the comments below) of cream teas we ate while away last year. Both were delicious.

The main photo was at Hanbury Hall, a National Trust property in Warwickshire. There were also sandwiches (who'd have thought blue cheese and apple sandwich could be so yummy!). The second photo was taken at Peacocks Tearoom in Ely.

Coughton Court (Coughton is pronounced 'Coat'n) is a National Trust property in Warwickshire, England. It has strong ties with the Throckmorton family - some of their portraits are seen in the post below. There are also ties to the Gunpowder Plot in the 17th century - see the photos below.

I've had a really good long break from Flickr, and excessive computer use, to try to help my repetitive strain injury in my arm. While things are quite a bit better, I'm afraid that it quickly gets worse when I use the computer, so I'm just going to upload a few photos I've already prepared for the next few weeks - and try to limit my time using the computer. Sorry if this means I can't pay as much attention to your photostreams as I would like, but I've just got to put my health first.
