Talking with the staff there, the water just collects in the cups formed by the leaves, and the leaves are so waxy that you get interesting surface tension effects.

Nestled in the trees and just east of the house, Robert’s grave site echoes classical Greek and Roman architecture. In Ancient Greece, an Exedra, or semicircular walled niche with a raised seat, served as a gathering place for conversation and contemplation. In Ancient Rome, these structures formed parts of buildings. Robert and Amy McCormick are buried in Cantigny’s Exedra. The statues represent two favorite pet dogs, Lotta and Shelia. from Cantigny's walking tour brochure.

We were at Cantigny Friday evening and one of the resident Red-tailed Hawks was VERY cooperative. In fact, he was so tame and tolerant of us that I was afraid he was injured. He kept flying though, so I assumed he was nominal. He did keep following us around and posing though. This picture was pretty much full frame with a little trim cropping. I'd say it let us get within 10 feet when he was in this tree.
