Sailor Jerry Mermaid

I found this Sailor Jerry design and did my best to copy it (traced the outline and filled in the middle like real drawing). He and his cohorts back in the day had interesting mermaid forms. Note the little side fins, and decidedly low start of the fish parts.

This was in the book Pierced Hearts and True Love: A Century of Drawing Tattoos, which is great both to read and just stare at.

Armadillo Grill's Amazing Queso and Me

I grabbed this from Griffey. I think Betsy took this pic of me one night on a return trip when some of the gang met at the Armadillo Grill in Carrboro. I used to live right down the street from here, and the Armadillo was one of my favorite haunts. The chile con queso... well, you can tell what I think of it.

I miss you unspeakably, Carrboro.
