Bordonia

realisationcreations posted a photo:

Stunning smooth lemon quartz briolettes feature as the unmistakeable focals in the Bordonia earrings. Garlanded with a cluster of gemstones - palest lavender chalcedony, sweet pink sapphires and petite burgundy rhodolite garnets, the design has been completed with my signature hand forged ear wires. The entire design has been oxidised heavily, and then lightly rubbed back.

Lemon quartz in this milky hue is quite rare, and will provide a reminder of Spring - no matter the season!

Calypso

realisationcreations posted a photo:

Named for the ethereal Calypso, the beautiful sea nymph who diverted Odysseus from returning to his beloved Penelope for a staggering seven years.

Definitely my most ornate design to date, the Calypso necklace features gorgeous blues which have been painstakingly added to a carefully shaped, hammered, and wirewrapped frame. I used tanzanite rondelles, and iolite and kyanite briolettes in the main body of the pendant, with teensy sterling rounds enhancing the symmetry and pattern. The wirewrapped dangles feature coordinating iolite - but in a rondelle - and also sky blue topaz. A generous London blue topaz - etched for added drama - takes pride of place in the very centre. A substantial rolo chain then leads to a handforged "s" clasp, and a length of extension chain - which is ornamented with more iolite rondelles. The design was then oxidised deeply, and lightly rubbed back to reveal the high drama, and gorgeous textures.

The pendant measures a generous 9.5cm or 3.7" at the longest point, and a touch over 7cm or 2.7" across the widest point, while the necklace itself measures an adjustable 54 1/2 - 57 1/2cm or 21 1/2 - 22 1/2" in length.

A truly opulent piece, all gemstones used in the Calypso necklace are A-AAA, while all metal is fine (999) or sterling (925) silver.

I had such a visceral reaction to these stunning red topaz briolettes - which incidentally weigh a whopping 38.65 carats - that I just had to have them. I combined them with carefully curved, hammered and wrapped elaborate fine and sterling silver wire frames, which feature teensy rondelles of pyrite and a lone sterling bead. Completed with my hand forged ear wires, the entire design was deeply oxidised and then lightly brushed back. The end result is a highly dramatic and eminently desireable pair of artisan earrings that I am certain will garner many compliments...

These measure a showstopping 7.1cm or 2.8" in length - the topaz briolettes are 19.5mm x 11mm.
All metal is sterling and fine silver.

Outstanding AAA blue topaz briolettes - 25.2 carats! - sway beneath a cluster of rondelles, with an AAA fancy faceted golden citrine perched above. Included within the cluster are rutile quartz, kyanite, white topaz, and labradorite. The design has been finished with my signature hand forged ear wires, heavily oxidised, and then rubbed back for a lovely patina.

While making these, I realised they were in a similar colour way to a previous design, which I based on some lyrics from "The Crow".

It won't rain all the time
Confiture de Peche

realisationcreations posted a photo:

Confiture de Pêche is what came to mind on completion of this decadent necklace - delicious plump peaches, preserved in the finest cognac, with accents of crystalised violas...I wonder if this is a real dessert? If so, I would love to try it!

The Confiture de Pêche necklace stars a focal of rich cognac quartz - the smooth briolette has been topped with an array of gemstones, carefully wired to a base of sunstone. Each gem has been placed on a petite headpin - amethyst, rutile quartz, smoky quartz - with a lovely "mystic" or sparkly coating, and more sunstone all feature. This component has been attached to a tendril of shaped and hammered sterling wire, which then leads to a linked section of sunstone and sterling, and a length of dainty sterling chain. Finished with a handforged clasp and an extension chain, a large toning sunstone completes the design. The entire design was oxidised heavily, and selectively rubbed back to reveal the gorgeous textures of this special piece.

This measures an adjustable 40 - 43 1/2 cm or 15 3/4 - 17" approximately, while the central component drops a further 6.7 or 2.6" (from the tip of the hammered tendril, to the base of the smooth congnac quartz briolette.)

Inspired by my love of stained glass elements in the Gothic architectural style, The Catherine Window necklace features enchanting rich colours. The central gemstone is a jaw dropping AAA oro verde (or green gold lemon quartz) briolette, which has been surrounded by carved rubelite garnet leaves, faceted full drops of lapis lazuli, and teensy "mystic" quartz rondelles. Joined to a generous length of chain using the deepest navy Akoya saltwater pearls, the design is finished with a hand forged "s" clasp and a length of extension chain - with a lapis briolette as a dangle. The entire design was heavily oxidised and lightly rubbed back.

The pendant measures 32mm x 32mm or 1.3" x 1.3", while the chain measures an adjustable 58 1/2 - 65cm or 23" - 24 1/4" in length.

The Catherine Window

With a nod to Henry David Thoreaux, the Walden Woods bracelet is elegantly earthy, in natural hues of browns and minty green.

The design has been created by wirewrapping a spine of AAA Peruvian opal gemstones - interspersed with three pyrite rondelles. This simple base was elaborated on with clusters of gems nestled between the fresh green rondelles. Featured are light smoky quartz rondelles - with a sparkly "mystic" coating, flashy pyrite, and toning Peruvian opal. Finished with an ornate Balinese silver toggle clasp, the entire design was oxidised in an organic fashion, and then lightly rubbed back. Lovely!

The design has been created by wirewrapping a spine of AAA sparkly white topaz gemstones together. This simple base was elaborated on with clusters of gems nestled between the white topaz rondelles.
Oh-so-dramatic!

These very long, deliciously lush earrings are the perfect accessory to enliven any neutral or earthy wardrobe. At the base of this design, flawless carved black garnet are featured. These gemstones have been given an unsual treatment - the raised leafy design is a stunning reflective surface, and this detail is surrounded by matte frosted areas. A textured chain leads to a twisted cut dark citrine, but between these elements, teensy faceted rondelles have been painstakingly wirewrapped - citrine and scapolite are the gemstones that have been used - the earthy hue has been lifted by the introduction of goldfilled rounds. To complete the look, generous hand forged ear wires grace the Tyger Tyger earrings. The entire creations have been oxidised and then selectively rubbed back - this only enhances the opulent textured feel of these very special design.

The Queen Mab necklace is an opulent design, befitting the wonderous Queen of the Faeries. Referred to in "Romeo and Juliet" (Shakespeare) Mab is described as a tiny being who races her chariot across slumbering peoples' faces, which causes them to dream of their wishes. In other literature, she has been referred to as the consort of the Emperor Oberon, and also as alleviating artists' sadness, by providing a rose-hued view of the world.

The Queen Mab design features a stunning wirewrapped central component, which has been adorned with teensy sterling beads. From the base of this component, rock crystal quartz rondelles have been wirewrapped, leading to a wonderous focal of solar quartz - reminiscent of moss or lichen found on the forest floor. The rock crystal chain has had glowing rubelite carved leaves added to it, along with luminous blushing pearls, and multi-hued tourmaline. To either side of the intricate centrepiece, a lone rock crystal rondelle gives way to a hand crafted chain of sterling wire and pink pearls. This terminates in - on one side - a hand forged "S" clasp - and on the other side - an hand crafted extension chain. The entire design was then oxidised in an organic fashion, and rubbed back selectively.

From the first day I saw her I knew she was the one
She stared in my eyes and smiled
For her lips were the colour of the roses
That grew down the river, all bloody and wild.

Inspired by the dark lyrics of Nick Cave, the Eliza Day necklace features a stunning gem-studded centrepiece, which falls from a hammered tendril of carefully shaped sterling wire. Comprising of delicious watermelon tourmaline rondelles, and teensy fluorite rondelles, these gemstones lead to a wirewrapped tourmaline and opal component - the white of the opal slightly tinged with lemon...almost tranluscent it's so pale. To either side of the central focal, individual tourmalines lead to a textured chain, which terminates in more tourmaline and a handforged clasp. The entire design was oxidised heavily, and selectively rubbed back to reveal the gorgeous textures of this special piece.

An arresting design, the Freya necklace is quietly elegant in milky pink and subtle shades of charcoal and black. The central - handforged and painstakingly wirewrapped - component is linked to luxe pink opal faceted rounds, and features a glossy black (dyed) chalcedony briolette - smooth and highly reflective. Strands of rectangular textured chain are connected to a handforged "S" clasp with more luscious opals, and a sweet dangle enhances the closure. The entire design has been deeply oxidised, and then selectively rubbed back to enhance the wonderful detail.

My first design in my new house! It felt so good to create, after months of angst and upheaval...these earrings simply made themselves!

Stunning hammered and shaped sterling teardrop hoops - reminiscent of an arching swan's neck - are woven carefully with a finer gauge of wire. These are adorned with a keishi pearl in a silvery white, a faceted violet-hued iolite button, and a flashy moonstone oval briolette. Oxidised and then carefully rubbed back to reveal the wonderful detail, these are finished with hand forged ear wires.
