But the bus service was stopped as the road was blocked by a navy ceremony. We were lucky in meeting a gentleman who was visiting his father in the neighbourhood. He explained to us the situation in English. He was also so kind in walking us all the way to the site of the statue. <br /> <br /> Travel experience is more interesting when you have all these unexpected things. Though they sometimes make you deviate from the plan.<br /> <br /> It was very windy and stormy in the morning when we were at the hill top seeing the statue.<br /> <br /> Have a great weekend my friends!<br /> <br /> Cristo Rei, the giant statue of Christ the King, was modelled on the famous Cristo Redentor in Rio de Janeiro.
