I ended up finding some scans left over from Indie Film Lab that I forgot to post. I am FINALLY beginning to get solid and consistent results with the 500C and it makes me want to go out and experiment everyday. This was taken a couple of months ago when the weather decided that snow in April was alright, but that's Ohio weather.

This image was taken off a roll of Agfa that had been expired for almost longer than I had been shooting film. I had this roll along with more than a couple of other processed and developed at Indie Film Lab and I couldn't be happier. The wait for only a few images to come back rivals anything that I could imagine, like Christmas Eve all over again.

I always end up defaulting to taking pictures of my husky Kona anytime I am in a rut or when I'm trying to break in a piece of new equipment. This is his normal "What the hell are you doing look?"

I am really excited as I finally feel like I am beginning to hit my stride with the Hasselblad after nearly two years of test rolls and some major disappointments. After graduation I forced myself to slow down and really work to craft and image that I would be happy with after coming back from Indie Film Lab (they do really great work!).

I went ahead and completed my lens collection (50mm, 80mm, 150mm) and set about trying to work on a tripod to get the best results possible. This was shot in the morning as the dew was still setting in on the blossoms and I could not be happier with the result. I decided to purchase a 21mm extension tube so that I could do a little bit more closeup work without having to sacrifice quality by using a front filter.

Meet my new buddy zero... new in that in the year that I've had him I have only managed to shoot two test rolls through him with mixed results. This is my first pinhole camera and one of the most beautiful pieces of equipment that I happen to own and shoot with. I've noticed the stagnation in my photography as a result of being constantly working towards finishing the last semester of my college career at OSU. Just two more weeks to go and I will celebrate along with my better half in Jamaica.

My goal this summer is to get images that capture the essence of what pinhole photography is about and I would be ecstatic if I achieved results that would even get close to the likes of what Zeb Andrews or Manyfires are able to accomplish. Wish me luck and if you have any helping hints I would be all ears!

I spent much of the day today trying to push the best negative scans from my Epson V600 in both 35mm and 120 films. After a few frustrating hours, I'm not sure that I am anywhere closer then when I started. While i feel like I have the some of the settings figured out, the grain (especially on B&W negatives) is mushy and not "natural" looking. If anyone has a workflow that they wouldn't mind sharing I would be all ears...

This is Kona after spending a solid 45 minutes chomping on an incredibly large rawhide bone. Its amazing to think when he was a puppy, the entire thing would be gone in one day, now it takes him about a month or so...

This was on the first roll of black and white film I ever shot with my dad's Minolta SRT-202. My family has always enjoyed supporting me and my photography addictions, so its only right that I test all of my new equipment on both them and my dog Kona...

So we are starting off spring in the normal Ohio way, which means with temperatures below freezing and more than six inches of snow expected before tomorrow morning. This was one of my first ever rolls with the 500c and I am still learning how to scan properly. Enjoying the morning with my parents, brother, & mimosa's. Thanks for looking!

Weather got you down? I'll be uploading a series of shots done in Michigan in the height of Autumn...

In other news, unfortunately my car decided to be relatively uncooperative and had to be taken into the shop for the past couple of weeks... the problem was that my film camera seems to have stayed with it rather than coming home with me. Hopefully I'll get back on track asap but until then please enjoy!

This is another one of the images from this weeks roll of film for the 52 challenge. I am really enjoying pushing to shoot something every week... but I hope to do alot more with portraiture and I would also like to find a lab in Columbus that will develop 120 film so I can do more with my 500c. Another thing on my list is to start developing my own black and white film...

Well... even though week 2 was extremely late on the upload side, it was actually still done in the right time frame. This shot was taken as we took down the Christmas tree almost a full month after the holidays. Also still learning the art of self scanning, I've had some experience with doing 120 film on my V600 but recently I've been sending in all of my film to IndieFilmLab. Thanks for looking and continuing to support by liking or commenting!

This is another one of the images from this weeks roll of film for the 52 challenge. I really enjoy more abstract gradients and I've found that film does a great job at producing the quality images that are attractive.
52 Weeks of Film 1/52: Failures

Aaron W | http://law-photography.com posted a photo:

So begins my journey in weekly film uploads... and as with any good adventure, I knew I was bound to run into problems along the way. I spent a week carefully crafting 24 exposures on my Minolta, being incredibly happy with the scope I managed to capture in my first week. My issue came on the fact that I am basically an idiot, and unlike the 120 film I've recently been shooting... 35mm film actually needs to be rewound back into the canister. So with great sadness, I ruined my first roll of my weekly shots for this year...

Undeterred I was determined to shoot another roll and correct my errors and in a single day I managed to capture something that I am relatively happy with.

I really appreciate all the support, whether you like my photos or leave me a comment I'm always inspired to continue on. Here is to new adventures and mistakes in the coming year!
It seems like it has been forever since I have posted something new to my flickr feed. Mostly this has had to do with improving other areas of my business and shooting less personal project work that I am happy to share with you all. This shot was a capture from my last paid session of 2012 where I had the opportunity to shoot the birthday party of a couple whose wedding we also covered in July.

That being said, with the new year upon us my goal is a renewed goal of doing a year long project. I will being a 52 week film adventure that should help me tap back in to what got me hooked on photography in the first place.

Thanks!

It feels like ages since I've had the time to devote to Flickr or taking a serious look at my photography as a whole. School is in its 13th week which means loads of term papers and finals to be ready for and the season for giving is here which means even less time for other endeavors.

Last week I did manage to spare some free time and to rework an old photograph I did for class... I had a really positive response from it but I didn't feel like it was ever absolutely complete. The rework added some highlighting, fixed some skin color issues from the texture, and darkened the edges to make her and her animals pop just a little bit more.

Thanks for looking! Hopefully will have some other new work up soon...
This was a scanned image for Indie Film Labs from my summer vacation on Mt Storm in West Virginia. Needless to say, swimming was put on hold to watch the show... it would not let go for anything. I know i say this alot but I need to shoot film more... the depth and richness of black and white film is unrivaled by any digital product I've tried.
